hey Vijith...thts wht shes asking..whr do they launch thier product...Ie Photographic Camera... and give reason as to why they have chosen that place...2 launch that product...valid reasons as to why tht particular country only...ill think ...which country can i suggest frm my side...

If we are on a brainstorming session, I would suggest Switzerland..

Guess why?? Who wouldnt want to click a part of switzerland and carry a copy of it in their pocket , or flaunt it amongst their friends n family !!

I think the project topic is such a khichdi that we will just have to brainstorm on this one :p

As far as ur Project on Im is concerned...and since the product is Photographic Cameras... one point that has to be taken into consideration most importantly is the Technology used in your product and its ability to compete the other competitors n well establishesd players in whichever International Market u choose 2 lauch the product in..

You Can Choose Any Country as an Im for ur product..
it may b..Russia, Australia, UK, US, Japan, Korea, SA, Pakistan, Greece, italy, Peru, Ne country of your choice..

but thn aft u decide the country (ake ne country by choice..)
you need 2 find out the following things which will be the reason to your product lauch decision in that particular country>

1. Cultural Analysis of that country:
ie Geographical Setting ( Location, Climate)
Social Institutions ie Family, Education ( quality and level of development) , Political System, Legal System, Religion and Aesthetics, Living Conditions ( Housing, Diet, CLothing) and Launguages

2. Economic Analysis
Ie Population ( Growth Rate , Ethnic groups, Migrations) , GDP or GNP, Personla income per capita, AvgFamily Income, Ditribution of wealth (Income Class) , Transportation Modes, its avalability and usage, Communication System, Working Conditions, FII Scopes, Countries Major Exports..ie Dollor Value, and imports, Trade Restrictions, Exchange Rates, BOP's, Current Rate of exchange, Labour Forces, Unemployment Rate, RND of the country...ie Development in Science and Tech, Channels of Distribution.. ie Middlemen, Wholesalers, Agents, Warehousing, Penetration of urban and rura markets, Media,..etc


3. Market Audit and Competative Market Analysis
Ie The product, ( evaluate the product as an innovation as it is percieved by the intended market) , major problems to prodct acceptance, THE Actual market ...ie Geographical Region, Consumer buying habits, Ditribution of the product, Scope of Advertising and Promotions, Current Market Cmpetitors and the Statistical analysis, Estim ate the Market size and scope , and look after the govt's participation in the market place....


ALL the ABOVE points in brief research will give detailed reason as to why you are lauching a product ..ir PHOTGRAPHIC CAMERAs in that particular country which you choose..

After that you can sart with you actual PRELIMINARY MARKETING PLAN.. which will include the following.

1. Marketing Plan
A. Target Market, Market Penetration and coverage..
B. Product Adaptation or modification
C. Promottion Mix ( Advertising obj, message, cost,) ( Sales Promotion) ( Personal Selling) ( Other Methods)
D. Distribution from origin to destination..(Very impt)

E. Channels of Distribution...Middlemen n others..
F. Price Determination..take into consideration..all export import charges also...that will be lieed dureinf trade from this country to the country whr product is launchd.

and thn finally..last step..
I. Marketing Budget...ie Selling Expenses, Advt exp, Distn exp, Product cost, other costs and profrma of P& L statement for 1st and 6th year. and BREAK EVEN ANALYSIS

I think so you should select any tourism country like switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand etc. There will be good scope of this product at tourism country and there will also be high market potential.

u can take a country like japan (because they ar every quality conscious), a country like paris (they will very much use it for fashion photography), or even a country like switzerland (special demand because of attraction from toursists), and even other countries which are well known holiday spots and where there are a lot of activities happening relating to fashion and fine arts.

the format for the project is just what vishal has said, if u want to know more of details u can refer to the book of 'international marketing' by 'cateora'

also one thing i would suggest would be to read some cases if possible as to how did various companies get into launching their camera's

this is Nishant . i`m working with hiral on this project.. :)
so we have selected the country Sri Lanka..
is that a good choice?? i mean does the FTA signed with sri lanka affect trading of electronics in any way?
we also thought that we could add somethign abt SAFTA(ya its new but stil)
do we need to change the country?? is so wich one do we take??
and from whih hemisphere?? latin/south america or Europe!

now exactly how do i approach the project???
i mean we went abt finding the import-export procedure of INDIA.. we also got almost all the required docs.
now the main inpetus is on itnernational marketing....
but do we first start with the exim part of the IM part??
currently we are doing our Im part.

also one more thing i wanted to know.. is that can it be that we ust have an assembly plant in india and we get everything that goes into making a camera from abroad(imported) and we export the camera as a whole..
but then would we have to show the import procedure for every imported Item??

i thnk the better thing to do wil be first seect 3-4 countries wer u wil be mrkting ur prduct......ok now tht u hve 3-4 countries in hand study abt the country with respect to the diff aspects tht vishal has provided above.....

now wat u shud do is select a country wich best suit ur needs.....by this i mean if u are short with finances then choose the country wich is least expensive to u....

nd also one very imp thng tht u hve pointed out is abt SAFTA. now u must be knowing tht ther r many such trading blocs like SAFTA, SAARC, EU, etc. study abt the ex-im concessions given under such trading blocs and then u can select a country accordingly....
