The Trail Run organized by the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Hyderabad on October 16, 2016, stood as a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment toward promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Sparked by the impressive performance of the institution's students and faculty in the Hyderabad Marathon earlier that month, this event went beyond just a physical activity—it symbolized a culture of fitness, discipline, and community engagement.

With the central theme of "Run for Yourself," the Trail Run welcomed a diverse group of participants, including students, academic professionals, and corporate executives. The initiative was organized in collaboration with Red FM and Grofers, reflecting strong industry-academia partnerships and corporate social responsibility. The event catered to runners across all proficiency levels, from enthusiastic beginners to seasoned professionals, encouraging inclusivity and shared enthusiasm for health and endurance.

The carefully curated trail route meandered through the serene natural surroundings near the IMT Hyderabad campus, offering a refreshing alternative to the noise and chaos of urban life. With the scenic 30-acre campus located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, participants experienced the rejuvenating effects of fresh air, quietude, and greenery. This setting not only contributed to a more enjoyable running experience but also emphasized the importance of connecting with nature as part of a healthy routine.

The event was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Mr. Mahender Reddy, the Sarpanch of Shankarapuram, underscoring the active involvement of local governance in student-driven initiatives. Dr. Satish Ailawadi, Director of IMT Hyderabad, also participated in the Trail Run and successfully completed the quarter trail of 10 kilometers. This level of involvement from leadership served as a motivating force for all attendees, illustrating that the ethos of wellness and discipline is truly embedded at every level of the institution.

All participants were acknowledged for their efforts and commitment with medals, while refreshment kiosks strategically positioned along the route ensured hydration and morale remained high throughout the event. The atmosphere was a blend of excitement, energy, and encouragement, showcasing IMT Hyderabad as an institution where academic rigor and holistic development coexist in harmony.

The success of the Trail Run was built upon the momentum of IMT Hyderabad’s enthusiastic participation in the Hyderabad Marathon 2016, where a remarkable team of 112 participants, including 13 faculty members, completed various running challenges. Professors like Nikhil Rastogi, who ran the full marathon of 42 kilometers, and Prof. Kalyan Chajerla, who completed the half marathon, exemplified the dedication and athletic spirit within the academic framework. These achievements demonstrated that physical endurance and academic excellence can go hand in hand, provided the environment supports and encourages such endeavors.

IMT Hyderabad, established in 2011, is the youngest addition to the IMT family which includes campuses in Ghaziabad, Nagpur, and Dubai. The institution has already earned accolades, including the distinction of being the 'Best Upcoming B-School in South India.' With advanced infrastructure, a picturesque campus, and partnerships with 20 global universities for student exchange programs, IMT Hyderabad continues to pave the way for academic innovation, personal development, and societal contribution.

Events like the Trail Run signify more than just fitness—they symbolize leadership, unity, motivation, and an unwavering commitment to overall well-being.
