Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, one of country’s premier B-schools has always aspired to strengthen the capabilities of integrating concepts with applications and values. It has always believed in exploring different paths to spread knowledge and learning. With this mission, IIM Kozhikode is the first IIM to advance ideas in collaboration with TED by organising an independent TEDx event on July 9th at IIM Kozhikode campus.
TED is a 25 years old non-profit organization devoted to ‘Ideas worth Spreading’. It has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. In the past annual TED Conference, the list of speakers include Bill Gates, Al Gore, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Pranav Mistry, Shashi Tharoor, Harsha Bhogle, Shekhar Kapur, Late Prof. C.K. Prahalad, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown amongst many other eminent personalities. TEDx offers individuals or groups, a way to organize independent, TED-like events; helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
TEDx IIM Kozhikode is an independently organized TEDx event under TED. Its mission is to spread ideas, inspire people by providing a platform of inspiring talks by entrepreneurs, innovators, change makers, leaders & scientists etc. It will host renowned speakers from different walks of life like Dr. Kiran Bedi, Dr. Palash Sen, Harsh Manglik, Satinath Sarangi, Gaurav Kapoor and many more.
This one day event would comprise a series of inspirational and cogitative talks by twelve speakers including a scintillating performance by the celebrated rock band in the country, Euphoria. Being a unique event it will witness a wide coverage in print, electronic media and participation from corporates, academicians, students and alumni. This event is supported by Microsoft, Pagalguy and Doattend.
