"<"CU#I!" SUMMAR$
This project is done under the supervision of Mr. Ramandeep and under
the mentorship of Mrs. Vijaya Bhatt.
The scope of the project tells us about how a branch of !! ban" situated
at #ri #ri $niversity in !uttac" e%ciently managed its students account
and made its business self&sustainable. The entire initial focus was on
ma"ing new customers through students account so that the ban" have
substantial money to run on its own.
The study was conducted in the ban" itself where the ban" manager and
the operations manager helped and guided me to successfully conduct
the research and thereby understand the operations of this branch of the
ban".
The Objective of the Study is &
• To understand the management of student account in !! Ban" '#ri
#ri $niversity Branch(.
P a g e | 5
I#R%;UC#I%
Management of student account refers to the day to day operations
carried out with respect to opening) running and properly inputting all the
datas of the student transaction in the software which is provided by the
ban".
The !! ban" of the Sri Sri University Branch in !uttac" is an e*cellent
e*ample of how a student account management can lead to an overall
better performance of the ban". The ban" was opened in the latter half of
the year +,-. in the campus of #ri #ri $niversity. The $niversity is
suppose to have more than /,,, student by +,-/ and this research 0gure
only shows the master plan !! plan had behind opening up its branch
inside the university itself.
1nvisioned by #ri #ri Ravi #han"ar ji) the #ri #ri $niversity was established
as a centre for world&class education so ndian students do not have to
leave the country in search of what they perceive to be better
opportunities. The #ri #ri $niversity ta"es pride in o2ering a curriculum
that enriches both domain e*pertise and life s"ills. The 3rt of 4iving
Programme is an integral part of the curriculum at the $niversity. The
programme e5uips the students with tools and techni5ues to handle
stress as well as understand and handle their minds) without which any
education is incomplete.
The $niversity is located on a -67&acre campus between Bhubaneshwar
and !uttac". The campus includes the admin bloc") a well&e5uipped
computer lab) a well&updated library) auditoriums) comfortable hostels)
Vidya 's"ill training centre( and a cafeteria. The campus also includes
sports and recreational facilities including a bas"etball court) a
gymnasium and a cric"et ground adjoining a jogging trac". The campus is
8i&9i enabled) with +:;/ connectivity. The #ri #ri $niversity today o2ers
value&based education in speciali<ed areas of study including
management= yoga= governance= and the performing arts.
3t present) the number of students in the university is more than
400 and around -, percent of these students have already made a
student account with the !! ban". n order to increase their mar"et
share and ma"e the business self&sustainable) !! ban" did an ama<ing
job of giving a good scheme to the students which they could have
redeemed within . months.

!! Ban" in the #ri #ri $niversity branch has a comparatively small
customer base but it still goes through discrepancies in its processes.
Majority of the discrepancies are in the form of !ash ?eposits. The
#oftware which the ban" sta2 uses does not allow for reduction in most of
the discrepancies. Therefore whenever there are certain discrepancies in
the account) which are majorly&
-. nput of wrong number in the software.
+. ?ouble direct debit from the account.
.. ?ebited instead of credit.
:. Cthers.
These discrepancies are solved by the operational manager or the Branch
Manager. f the Branch manager or the Cperational manager fails to do so)
they as help from the Branch >eso$ution ?es3 which is situated in the
city head branch of !! ban".
They give proper documentation of the problem) and then understands
solution to the problem.
P a g e | 13
!are is ta"en that the customer is informed from before if any money is
wrongly entered or double debited or credited in place of debited. The
ban" employees need to ma"e sure that the sentiments of the customers
are not hurt by their actions.

Strengths
• &ccessibi$ity M This #ri #ri $niversity branch is the nearest branch
available to all the members of the university and its students. Thus)
they have an unbeatable advantage of accessibility.
• Student Savings &ccount M #tudent account o2ers better features
and is apt for the students of the university.
1ea3nesses
• Sma$$ siDe M !urrently) the ban" is located inside the campus in an
area of less than :,, s5uare foot. This is very small and in future it
would re5uire a larger area.
P a g e | 15
• "ess number of *m2$oyees M 3t present) there are only two
employees in the ban". t could be di%cult for them to multitas".
O22ortunities
• -ore number of students in the u2coming years M t has been
predicted that by the year +,-/) there will be more than /,,,
students in the campus. Thus) it is an ama<ing opportunity for the
ban" to prepare for such large pool of target customers in the
future.
• O2ening an &+- faci$ity inside the cam2us M 3t !! 3TM outlet
inside the campus itself will allow the ban" to have&
b. More number of customers.
c. More income through transactional cost of other ban"
3TMs.
• The !ampus is more than 100 acres big and if possible the ban"
should try to increase the si<e of its o%ce to cater to large customer
base.
• .n house faci$ity for the ban" employees in the campus hostel
could lead to better retention and loyalty of the employees.
+hreats
• +hreat of a ne# entrant M 3 new branch can open a branch inside
a campus and could o2er considerable threat by giving more
features to the students of the campus.
C%C*USI%
The student savings account has brought a win&win situation for both the
!! ban" and the students of the university. Cn one hand) the ban" gets
more number of customers and becomes self&sustainable) it also helps the
students to open a student account which is in the vicinity of their hostels
and maintain the account.
3long with allowing the ban" to be self&sustainable the ban" has also
made its presence felt in the Trisulia) !?3 and #andapur region of !uttac".
This is a very good sign for the ban".
P a g e | 16
n the years to come) with more number of students) more avenues will be
opened for the ban" to invest in and get a good return.
4astly) would li"e to say that it was a masterstro"e of a plan from both
the ban"s perspective and the $niversity perspective to start a ban"
inside the !ampus. 9ew more years and this symbiotic relationship will be
very fruitful for both the big players.
