IAS Officer Protects Evidence in A Heroic Way

It is seldom to see such cases where the government officers are risking their life to do their duty honestly without any corruption. But, as it is said that not everyone is corrupted or tainted, there are myriads of officers who are doing their job that make us all proud. A senior IAS officer in Tamil Nadu shows the heroic side of his stature and protected the evidence in a heroic way. U. Sangyam has been appointed as the Legal commissioner by Tamilnadu High Court to probe a multi-crore granite scam in Madurai. It is clearly said that with great powers come great responsibility. He spent his whole night in a graveyard when the district office expressed inability in digging out the grounds.
According to The Hindu, the IAS officer was worried that the graveyard would be tampered with. Despite the assurance by the local police officials and revenue officers, the officer was at the graveyard located in E-Malampatti near Melur till late morning. On Sunday, Bones of four bodies, including that of a baby, were exhumed from a graveyard in E-Malampatti near Melur on Sunday following a complaint against a granite quarry operator of having made human sacrifice of two mentally-challenged persons and buried them in 1999 reported by ChennaiOnline.
The bones would be sent to a forensic laboratory in Chennai and the evidence gathered from it would be presented before the court, a police officer told ChennaiOnline. We have heard so many times about the evidence getting disappeared. But, if such officers are present in our department then we don’t have to worry about cases or evidence.
Respect!!
