How can we stop pollution of any type ?

i agree. yet, pollution is actually already a problem now... there are only so many reach a self-pollution control can do.. the gov, all NGO etc must take drastic actions; to do what have been listed by the many replies here... then there must be a change in the mindset -- how to change? this will take a long time and very difficult; but must start now i.e. environmental subjects in early education at schools etc in all areas; not only urban areas.

but reduction is surely possible and it should be done on an individual level....

pollution cannot be stopped..... we have seen the outcome of the recent COP15! what can be done, is to invent technology that can counter this pollution..... i mean if the human brain can invent anything, invent something for sustaining life on this planet!.....
 
Pollution now has become a great danger to our world. It is the toughest challenge we have ion our hands right now. It’s impossible to stop pollution but we can still decrease it if we try.
One effort to stop pollution includes the new electric cars.

Recycle Your Used Motor Oil
Separate items into plastics, glass and paper products, and discard only what is non-recyclable.
 
I think to stop pollution we need to spread awareness because by spreading awareness only we can save our planet. Govts shud make some strict laws to control the environment degradation and destruction.
 
The first and foremost step gov and NGO shud take is to create awareness of pollutions.... than we could able to create road map of how decearse pollution..
 
Nice topic for discussion friend. well, I think there are many ways to control pollution of any type which most of us (excluding rural population) are aware of. But the main problem is their succesful implementation. till the time the young generation comes forward to take initiative , all the techniques to control pollution will remain mere paper works . It is also worth notable that the govt. should take some steps to allocate funds to the rural sector of the country to standardise their standard of living to that extent which will not cause pollution to the country.Because merely educating the rural population will not suffice(except the activities they can avoid ) as most of the families live below the poverty line and they cant standardise their way of living by their own . Of course they should be made aware about the spillage of garbage here and there.But above all , the efforts should be made from grass root level and we should all try to play our part to atleast reduce the menace of pollution in the upcoming years , if not altogether eradicate it which seems highly improbable at this moment.
 
First of all we have to educate ourself about pollution effect, then we can educate other to implement the same to save the environment and future generation.
