I think it shud not be made mandatory...but cases had arise , so this sends concerns to the school authorities to take such steps

Drug addiction is a curse for future generations.
One question in my mind is.. If government follows all rules and regulations they make then there is no questions of students taking drugs or becoming addict to it. Yes. Like sex education.. Drug awareness is also important.
We have latest example.. Skeletons on cigarette packs.. I don’t think there would have been any decrease in sales.. in fact a new cigarette with name "Cancer" will also have good sales. .. in few days it will sale like a hot cake.
Awareness with strict control and regulations can help in restricting our generation to live for few more years. Can Njoy more birthday celebrations.

In schools its becoming a major problem that many students studying in schools are becoming drug addicts and yes and that too the students of 11th and 12th class especially, i think before going to the solution of problem we must know actual reason for the problem. According to my own check out and conversations with such students outcome is that maximum drug addicts in a schools are due to a sick mindset that they think after passing 10th they have achieved everything and they try to make drug usage as a part of their lifestyle. another reason behind this is the immense pressure of studies and career. These students are also motivated by the movies and all.
So i think its a big problem for school students. Schools must keep on conducting sudden tests throughout the academic session and the student found guilty must be taken to psychiatrist for treatment.
Drugs consumption is not good for the country like India and it is also considered as the bad practice in our cultures. Drug addicts not only spoil their lives but they also spoil life of their parents who have to face society.
Schools must setup a separate body to check drug addicts, because if we haven't controlled this problem it will become a big and serious problem for next generation of India.
