HOSTEL LIFE

Well said. Just to add to it.... Hostel life makes you the man you never were. I'm yet to experience it first hand but i've seen enough to be convinced.

it teaches youngsters 2 be self dependent...not dependent on parents for everything.... it makes them bold....they get to enjoy life before getting into professional life.

Its always good to stay in hostel. because we learn so much. We learnt how to live independently and how to cope with cultural differences with other people. it will be very useful.

Hostel is a place where u can interact with others, learn from your mistakes and a lot more. Besides, it helps you to come out of the comfort zone u had at home.

Hostel life like any invention has its own advantages and hazzards. It is the individual who makes a choice of pursuing in the direction of his intrest. The hostel life is a miniature of the challenges life will pose when one gets out of college and if the experience of hostel is used to build one self he/she will be a more successful person in life.

Hostel life is a miniature of the problems life will pose and the experience of being in the big bad world can be built being there

One gets to learn lot of stuff when at hostels, particularly intra personal skills, how group dynamics work etc. But at the same time one may get carried away with group or bad elements and then suffer a lot.

one should experience hostel life for sure. it will help you in getting gud friends and understanding people well. it will give lot of scope for enjoyment as well

It depends on person to person. In my opinion hostel life is good. Because you learn to be independent, you have to take some major decisions of your life on you own. So It is helpful in making you responsible towards your life. But you have to avoid yourself from the bad company.

Can't say..

Hostel life may be good as it teaches one to be self dependent. At times, can be even bad. there are chances of becoming spoiled. Since they are far from their home, they have a right to do things of their choice, which can sometimes be misleading too...

Hostel life is the most pleasurable period of a student's life. The students who do not get a chance to live in a hostel miss a valuable and memorable piece of experience. Hostel life produces in the students a sense of confidence and self-help. Here the student is not under the close check of his parents. He has to set the daily routine of life himself.

All my views on hostel life was dicarded when i saw the recent movie HOSTEL.
It's the story of Karan (Vatsal Sheth) who takes admission in an engineering college in the interiors of Maharashtra. He stays in the college hostel, where he's subjected to unimagined torture in the name of ragging. Some people from the college administration are also involved, but the spineless principal refuses to take any action. Karan's only support in this turmoil is his girlfriend (Tulip Joshi).

Manish Gupta's narrative stars promisingly with some hard-hitting moments. But it soon fizzles out as it becomes humdrum. You just have Karan being tortured in different ways, which doesn't take the story ahead. Some of the cheesy dialogues are cringe worthy. The romantic track intended to provide some relief, in the otherwise gloomy film, lacks spunk. Even the climax, doesn't provide any solution to the issue of ragging, making you wonder why this film was actually made in the first place.

The 3 Ds of hostel life

Discipline
Duty
Devotion
Your hostel is a place where you can learn a lot of things including how to conduct yourself. Students are expected
to follow these rules when they join the hostel:

1. First and foremost, all students are expected to acquaint themselves with the hostel rules and regulations. Lack of awareness about the rules will not be seen as a reason for not following them.

2. You will need to share your room with another student and you have to adjust with each other.

3. Following hostel rules and timings is a must. Any violation can result in strict action being taken by the wardens.

4. Students are not allowed to leave the hostel after a certain time, and this is to be followed very strictly.
