Google's Attempt of Being a Terminator is Incredulous and Terrifying
The internet giant is the powerhouse of innovation and uses its technology impeccably. They have invented a giant robot which can walk and run giving the feel of the popular film Terminator; it shows that Terminators may be closer than we all fear. They have launched a new video which shows a two-legged 6-foot-2-inch-tall robot named Atlas running through the woods. Atlas was developed by Boston Dynamics and Sponsored by the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Later, it was bought by Google in 2013.
"We're interested in getting this robot out in the world," said Boston Dynamics founder Marc Raibert as he showed footage of the project during a robotics panel at the Fab Lab Conference and Symposium in Cambridge, Mass. Out in the world is just a totally different challenge than in the lab. You can’t predict what it’s going to be like," He added.
Forest tests are not completely "out in the world," since the robot is hooked up to a power tether. Even more improvements are coming soon, as “we’re working on a version that doesn’t have that.” He added.
"All kinds of stuff happen out there and we're making pretty good progress on making it so it has mobility that’s sort of within shooting range of yours, I m not saying it can do everything you can do, but you can imagine if we keep pushing, we’ll get there. Our focus is on balance and dynamics, working in the way animals and people do, moving quickly to avoid falling," he said.
Well, it is believed that this is the most advanced robot ever created in the history of the inventions. Look at this appalling and incredulous video of a robot running through the woods.
