PROBLEMS OF ROAD TRANSPORT
1) There can be occasional shortages of fuel and other petroleum products in our country.
2) Vehicle availability in time and of required capacity are always felt in our country, with increase in trade and commerce, this can become more problematic.
3) The cost of maintaining accessories, such as tyres and batteries, have increased tremendously.
4) The number of octroi and police checknakas result in heavy congestion of trucks.
5) Speedy and adequate maintenance of road in India are wanting. Service facilities along the roads are lacking.
The system of national, zonal and state permits tends to restrict the free growth and the movement of road transport.
