"Do we need Commonwealth Games?" - This question looks strange keeping in mind that there is hardly a month left for the opening ceremony for the biggest sports extravaganza in India.The question is still valid considering the amount that is spent on it- 28,000 crores.Do we need 30K crore sports meet in India at this time?We could have spent this amount in better ways.We could have used this amount to improve life of atleast thousand ppl in India.There are better ways to spend this money.Most importantly,this amount is spent in highly inefficient on seeing the reports of corruption being flashed on media everyday."Commonwealth" is greatly misunderstood by our politicians.They have spent the money considering it as common wealth rather than applying the term to games only.Even before the games are started this event has painted a bleak picture in the minds of people.Recent survey told that people don't want to watch this game.I'm sure there will lot of money involved than being presented.Personally,I feel I dont want such a kind of extravaganza.

off course not.......in a country where more than 30 million people who even cant get 2 meals in a day, inadequate medical facility, lack of infrastructure, corruption and lack of will power in politics, Commonwealth Game is just a waste of money of tax-paying Indian.
sports facilities is not there in India. other than cricket, i dont know how other sports are surviving in India.
In the name of beautification of delhi, govt. have destroyed everything that left. the roads are filled with traffic and pits which can swallow a whole car.
every political party is trying to get maximum profit from it.
CP used to be very nice place for hangout, but now it is disgusting.

God, save us :(
 
Our Politicians have completely forgot the rest of the nation who suffer a lot. Definitely not needed at this point of time.
 
few points i want to add. during CWG, all private transport will be restricted in delhi due to which the labour class and businessmen will be effected because there will be no business for about a month atleast. also according to various surveys conducted in delhi, no one want to watch CWG, so again wastage of money.
 
I think Commonwealth Games should happen in India....So that Indian sportsmen(not cricketers) also get a chance to showcase their mettle...Its a big boon for Indian sports if handled properly. This can lead to appropriate training infrastructure and foreign exposure....
