laboratory data to make rapid business

Everyday users of these systems develop
the skills and techniques to access the
data they require to perform their daily

customers of these laboratories, access to

Retriever users do not need to have access to the individual
data systems from which the data is extracted, and data from all
systems is available via a single, intuitive user interface.
Secure, Immediate Access to Reports
Retriever enables users to access data via pre-configured reports.
Reports are configured using Crystal Reports from Business Objects
and can include textual, graphical and tabular data. Each user is
defined within the Retriever security system, allowing precise control
over which reports the user can access. Since data is reported directly
from the source database, changes to data are displayed in real time.
Data Views
Retriever data views present the data in a Windows® Explorer paradigm.
Retriever enables the data displayed in both the tree and the details grid
to be configured to meet the specific business needs of the view.
Data views enable Retriever users to find and display the data
they need to make business decisions without relying on hard-copy
reports that may be out of date as soon as they are printed.
Report Options
Once a report has been generated, Retriever provides a number of
options for utilizing that report. Users can:
• Print to any Windows® printing device
• Export in a number of common file formats (including PDF,
Word document, RTF, Excel®)
• Save in the source application or the Retriever database as a PDF
or Word document – providing a record of the report generated
• Export to Thermo’s Watson LIMS™ Document Management
System
The Retriever report viewer screen provides textual searching
capabilities that enable a user to find text within the report contents
(e.g. to search for a “Rejected” sample amongst a list of samples
for the previous month).
Simultaneous Multi-Language Support
Retriever enables users in different geographical locations to
navigate the user interface in their own language. This ensures
that data can be extracted from enterprise systems that may be in
a single language.
