CUSTOMER satisfaction for the private education sector has risen significantly.

According to a customer satisfaction index published by the Institute of Service Excellence at the Singapore Management University, the private education sector comprising commercial schools scored 74.5 points, up more than nine points from last year.

The public education sector did not fare too badly either: customer satisfaction went up from 65.8 points last year to 70.3 points. The public education sector comprises the three publicly funded universities, namely the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Management University,-the five polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education.

This is the first time the institute is publishing separate results for the private and public education sectors.
