creADivity & ManagementParadise.com - Advertising in Future Communications Case Study Competition
Description
ADvertising during Recession
Come recession and the instant reaction of most CEOs is to first reduce the marketing & advertising budget. Most of the times the justification given is that there's no direct way to measure the benefits of spending money through "advertising" and hence if a low cost has to be maintained the axe first falls on advertising.
Though there have been many cases where the reduction in advertising budget has proved correct, many a times we have found out companies struggling to beat competition or get beaten by competition due to reduction in advertising. Importantly, an eternal debate has being raging on whether advertising is an effective sales weapon or is just pure hogwash. Some companies, over the years, have mastered the art (or science, as some people call it) of advertising to use it for in fact increasing sales and not just eyeballs.
creADivity and ManagementParadise.com gives you an opportunity to build case studies on actual Indian companies or ventures who were effected (both positively or negatively) by changes in advertising budgets due to business downturns. So come back to us with real life examples of companies which cut their advertising rupees and either increased sales or decreased sales as a result of the same. You can choose a company or an industry (if you see a trend) and submit a detailed analysis based on reasonable data.
You would also be required to send the proof of the data used. The proof could be through the annual reports or any other legal document. For unregistered ventures, a reference from the CEO or Owner of the venture is required.
Selection Criteria - - The submitted case studies will be evaluated by a panel of academicians and industry people. The panel will have 5 members with 3 from academia and 2 from industry.
