CAPITAL ADEQUACY :

The capital adequacy ration improved to be 14.11% as on 31.3.2004 as against 12.66% as on 31.3.2003 and is well above the stipulated Reserve Bank of India norm of 9%. The Tier-1 Component of Capital Adequacy Ratio was 8.37% as on 31.3.2004 as compared to 7.42% as on 31.3.2003.



WORKING RESULTS :

The Bank has done splendid performance on the profitability front during 2003-04. The outstanding performance in different functional areas has resulted in increased profits.


The Gross Profit (Profit before Provisions and Contingencies) recorded 100% increase from Rs.432.36 Crore in 2003-03 to Rs.865.64 Crore in 2003-04. The Net Profit for the year 2003-04 amounted to Rs.411.31 Crore as compared to Rs.196.56 Crore in 2003-03 recording 109% increase.
