CERTIFICATE OVERVIEW
The Business Intelligence Certi?cate allows students to bring
value to companies across many sectors that have vast
quantities of both structured and unstructured data that requires
identi?cation, analysis, and transformation into useful data for
business optimization, forecasting, and other business objectives.
This certi?cate provides students with a unique skill set, a
valuable credential, and immediate recognition in the IS/IT ?eld.
This particular area of information systems is highly sought by
businesses in their new hires and existing IS personnel.
This certi?cate can be a companion to the computer information
systems master’s degree. The credits completed as part of
this certi?cate may be applied toward the degree after formal
admission per University transfer policies with a grade of B or
better in each course. However, successful completion of the
courses or certi?cate does not guarantee admission to the degree
program.
Curriculum:
• CIS 570 – Business Intelligence (3 cr.)
• CIS 575 – Applied Data Mining and Analytics in Business (3 cr.)
• CIS 576 – Business Data Visualization (3 cr.)
OR
• CIS 655 – Business Database Systems (3 cr.)
Admission requirements include an undergraduate degree from an
accredited four-year institution in any ?eld and at least a 3.0 GPA.
The Business Intelligence Certi?cate tuition is $770 per credit hour*.
You may be eligible for ?nancial assistance through GI bene?ts,
corporate tuition discounts, loans, and grants.
*Additional University fees may apply. Colorado State University reserves the right
to change tuition rates without notice. Tuition rates are subject to increase on an
annual basis. All prices refer to U.S. currency
