: Brand is the term, name, sign, symbol, design or a combination of them, which helps to identify the seller products & identify them from competitor products. Its primary purpose is creating an identity of the product.


The brand names should be easily understood & recognized by the rural consumer. Unfamiliar & absurd brand names cause hesitation in the minds of the consumer.


The rural brands are recognized through symbols, logos and colours.


E.g. -‘Billi waali cell’ - Battery with the cat as a symbol- Eveready.
