'Blurred Lines' is the 'bane of my existence', Says Emily Ratajkowski
Emily Ratajkowski rose to the stardom after her video of blurred lines with Robin thicke became a massive hit. Her flaunting attitude of a body made her popular and now she really wishes people would get over "Blurred Lines." The model and actress recently told In Style that it’s become a bit of an albatross.
"I wasn’t into the idea at all at first," Ratajkowski said. "I think I came off as a bit annoyed in the video. Now, it's the bane of my existence. When anyone comes up to me about 'Blurred Lines,' I'm like, are we seriously talking about a video from three years ago?" She has always opened up on her thoughts related to nudity and after her blurred lines and gone girl; she doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.
"It's weird to me that the reaction to a woman's naked body is so controversial in our culture,” she told the magazine. "My mum taught me to never apologize for my sexuality. My dad never made me feel embarrassed. I also don't think I've ever had an awareness of my own body as being super-sexual. It was always just my body."
She doesn't want that people keep on asking her the same questions and remember her for blurred lines; Ratajkowski is now ready to expand her horizons. "I'm not looking to play the pretty-girl type that you would expect from a model turned actress," she said. "I want to surprise people. Maybe play the weird girl. It takes fighting for, which I’m prepared to do."
