Being an Entrepreneur

It takes nothing more than changing the way you see the world. The bad news is it will also require you to work hard and take action. As an entrepreneur you are always looking for and taking advantage of new angles and opportunities. Chances are those great ideas you have bouncing around your head have been thought of before, the question is, are you willing to take the chance and make something happen? Even if you don't end up making money the first time around you will build your understanding of what works and what doesn't. The trick is to get the fly wheel of experience going and come back to give it a push as often as you can.

If a great idea comes to you, evaluate if it is realistic. Think of cost, manufacturing time, and popularity.

Years later, the successful ideas are "obviously" good, but when they first began, most people rejected them. Google is one of the most famous examples - "Search is done. Does the world need yet another search engine?"- but many less-spectacular successes have strong arguments against them.

Well, I agree that now we really do not need any more search engines. In fact the fact is that many of us do not even know the names of various other search engines. Anyways, well talking about the entrepreneurship, it definitely needs a lot of hard work, but the question arises that the people who are working in the private sector also are very hard working, but this really doesn't necessarily mean that they can be good entrepreneurs for sure. They may be and they may not be. But then I think apart from the hard work (which definitely is one of the most vital components though) risk taking ability also plays a great role in defining whether the person is good for entrepreneurship. I have seen many people myself who are pretty good in their job but still want to switch over to their own business. But, are not able to, the reason being that they are comfortable with what they are earning and then sub-consciously they probably are satisfied as well. At the same time there are people who plan to switch to entrepreneurship but then, are not able to. The reason being, they fall short in strength needed for entrepreneurship and obviously implies that they lack risk taking abilities. Hard work counts, but not alone.
