Leaders Exchange
Programme of Events
2015–2016
Welcome
Our vision is
for Scotland to
become the most
entrepreneurial
society in the world
As we embark on our 20th year of events,
one thing is clear: what our members value
more than anything else is being able to access
the advice from fellow entrepreneurial leaders.
Through our amazing network, you can
discover more about how to attract and
manage a talented team, mindful leadership,
astute fnancial planning, how to adapt your
business model or how to develop robust
exit strategies. With today’s pace of change,
support from those who have been there
and done it before is more important
now than ever.
As a result of your feedback, our
events programme tests some new
exciting formats, including more informal
meet ups, hands-on masterclasses and
in-depth company visits. To incorporate
your feedback on these new formats, we
will be launching the second instalment
of the events programme in January 2016.
Along with a fantastic events programme,
we’ll be focused on growing our network
with more entrepreneurial leaders like you.
If you know an ambitious, driven individual
who is in a leadership position and is
navigating the complexities of growth, please
encourage them to sign up as a member.
We’re also looking to strengthen our
connections with key players in the Scottish
entrepreneurial ecosystem – people who
share our belief that Scotland can be the
most entrepreneurial society in the world.
As part of Entrepreneurial Scotland,
we are bigger, better and stronger than
ever before. So, while this might be our
20th year of events – it’s just the beginning
of an ambitious new stage for our members,
our networks and, we believe, for Scotland.
I wish you continued success and look
forward to catching up with you at
an event soon.
Chris van der Kuyl
Chair, Entrepreneurial Scotland

Leaders Forum
What I hear from members, every day,
is peer learning is at the core of what we do.
Our job is to make sure we stay focused on this
in order to deliver the best peer network in the world.
We shape what we do around your feedback and
we are on hand to make connections and deliver
events that help you get to the next stage.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for our network,
please speak to the Directors of the Leaders Forum.
The Leaders Forum will stay on the pulse of the membership
and will be running informal local events across the
country (stay up to date of these on our website).
Ultimately, we are an ‘exchange’ and, as a member,
you make this possible. We want to grow this network
with like-minded people, so my ask would be – if you meet
an ambitious, entrepreneurial leader who is committed
to lifelong learning, please ask them to join us.
We will go much further collectively than we
ever could alone.

Entrepreneurial Scotland is building a
more entrepreneurial culture in Scotland.
We provide a cohesive framework to
connect highly talented people, across
all types of entrepreneurial activity,
accelerating their ability to lead and grow
successful and thriving organisations.
Working through our members and partners,
our vision is for Scotland to become the
most entrepreneurial society in the world.
Our purpose is to inspire, develop
and connect a diverse community of
people across Scotland and internationally.
People with an entrepreneurial mind-
set who can lead a transformational
culture change that will bring economic
and social prosperity to Scotland.
Our focus is on three key areas:
1. Building thriving peer learning
networks to connect people who
already are, or who have the potential
to be, entrepreneurial leaders.
From our strong roots in the Leaders
Exchange, we are building networks
where people with an entrepreneurial
mind-set from diverse backgrounds can
connect, learn from each other and grow
skills, knowledge and confdence. We aim
to connect people at all stages of their
journey as entrepreneurial leaders, from
early to advanced. We expect to grow
our global network of over 500 current
and aspiring entrepreneurial leaders
to over 1000 within the next year.
2. Delivering inspirational programmes
through the Saltire Foundation to develop
high potential individuals at early to
mid-career stage to become the next
generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
In 2015, The Saltire Foundation will support:
— over 130 Saltire Scholars (university
undergraduates embarking on their
fnal year at university) to undertake
paid internships all over the world
— 25 Saltire Fellows – high potential
individuals at mid-career stage from
private, public and third sectors to
undertake an eight month programme
in Scotland, the USA and China in
partnership with Babson College, the
number one Business School in the
world for entrepreneurship of all kinds
3. Leading a transformational culture
change in Scotland highlighting the
benefts of an entrepreneurial mind-set.
Through the achievements of people
participating in our networks and
programmes, we are able to highlight
examples of the benefts of building and
adopting a culture of entrepreneurship.
