Some of the B-Schools that you should aspire to be in - if you think you can combine your managerial skills in some off-beat areas diverging away from the mainstream MBA, then the must apply B-Schools in the sectorial management institutes are:

1. IRMA -(Institute of Rural Management Anand)- Anand
2. IIM – Ahmedabad’s PG in agri-business management
3. IIM – Lucknow’s PG in Agri-business management
3. IIFM –(Indian Institute of Forest Management)- Bhopal (Website: http://www.iifm.ac.in/)

MBA in rural or forest management throws up challenging opportunities in the rural sector, in development organizations, agri-business enterprises, areas related to micro-finance, food and agricultural marketing and management of agri-products. Read “Fortune at the bottom of the Pyramid” by C.K.Prahlad.

What with a lucrative pay packages and career options to work with organization like World Bank, UNICEF, Asian Development Bank, EXIM Bank, Ford Foundation. To name a few Indian corporates who are jumping into the bandwagon to hire such manpower are ITC Ltd., ORG MARG, ONGC, PepsiCo, Reliance Retail, Wal-mart, even white goods producers like LG, P&G and HLL, and financial institutions like RBI, ICICI Bank, SBI (Micro Finance). Given the booming economy and a thrust from all corporates in rural India salaries in the Agri Business management Programs in all the above institutes have shot up. An average salary of between 6-8 lacs is common.

IIFM is the only premier institute of India in Forestry Management and it is only-one-of-its-kind in Asia that caters to the growing need for manpower in forestry and allied areas. IIFM opens up the gate for career in the best corporates, developmental organizations, international donor agencies and financial institutions.

The fee for the two year program in IIFM is only Rs.75000/-. Apart from providing top-class education and facilities to students, IIFM is the only management school in India that provides a monthly stipend of Rs.1500/- to all students who get selected

So if you believe you could be one of those few who could make the most in this area you would be glad to know that the IIFM forms are available at all IMS centres until the 5th of December.

thank you rahul_parab2006, for providing essential information. It seems that you are forwording the actual message of Mr. Nilesh Sarwate. So, I have a request for Mr. Nilesh Sarwate, that he himself visited dombivli centre only at the time of commencement of catapult 2006 batches, after that he seems to be completely vanished in thin air. Have you not concerned about how the classes goes here? :SugarwareZ-158:
