Each student must present an individual paper of 8 (+/-2) pages (references and

The paper must analyze how strategy, marketing, human resources, corporate
governance or any other discipline in management should take into account the family
nature of a family firm. The student can choose as many management disciplines as
he/she wants. The research questions of this essay could be:
Should the management science have different approaches to family
businesses compared to non-family businesses? in which ways?
This analysis must be supported by solid and relevant information from serious
sources, which must be cited in the bibliography section. The essay is to be delivered
no later than three weeks after the end of the course.
We strongly suggest to students of different administrative disciplines (marketing,
strategy, etc.) to enroll on this course in order to acquire a broader perspective of the
management sciences and to have a deeper understanding of family firms.
