Do you think social networks are responsible for wastage of lot of productive time for most of the people? Wouldn't it be nicer if people spent the time spent on Facebook learning new skills, a programming language, a musical instrument or acquiring new cooking skills - something that enriches their lives?

What's your take?

I do agree with you that scoial networking sites eats lots of our productive time. However, somehow I feel that this are addictive sites, once you will become addict of these, you are just gone

yeah u r true ....facebook and orkut are really killing time....facebook with its applications but the great advantage that we are getting is that we are able find our old friends on facebook very easily
 
Social networking sites can do more than just give people the satisfaction that they fit in, they are also a way for expressing one's political thoughts. We definitely need to maintain our social networking sites to keep in touch with former classmates and relatives that live away from the state. But such sites are too addictive... Its better we invest our precious time in gathering knowledge
 
@ Hiral , I totally agree with you that youngster will never wake up to reality of India if it would not have been such popular use of medium. Through social network we wake up so many people to the reality of India. We should not ban anything seeing only disadvantage we should do cost benefit analysis first else there will be a curb on each media.
 
Generally speaking, social networking sites are eating us. But if u r a marketing specialist... u will fix the same as ur prime ground
 
I believe that the competition among the social networking sites are increasing a lot everyday. This will force the websites to bring lots of useful stuffs in their biz in next couple of years
 
Even I feel facebook and Orkut are a complete wastage of time and regarding the fact of connecting with your old friends, we have got many other wayz to do.. but then, its just that, we are too lazy for that!
