The above title applies to me and maybe some other students as well.
The History:-
I scored a moderate 66% in H.S.C. in 2006-07. I wanted to study B.M.S. Now in my own college that was Ritambhara (Juhu), i felt short by a percent. Same with other few colleges where i had applied. I was getting in B.Com but decided not to do it as i wanted to do B.M.S. come what may! So i took a bold decision of wasting a year and prepare for C.C.E.E. My father 100% backed me.
This year, C.C.E.E. was still not restarted after last year's controversy. So now i can get admission on my H.S.C. marks. I applied in many colleges as i knew that this is my last chance. During the form submission i also attested an Affidavit known as Gap Certificate. It was an undertaking elaborating the circumstance in which i decided to waste a year.
I fortunately got admission in Dalmia College of Management on pure merit. I submitted the original documents, paid the fees and was granted admission. Now my college is starting from this Monday wiz. 14th of July 2008, and on this Saturday i got a call from the college requesting me to come and meet them.
Today my Father accompanied me and he was told that my admission will be canceled as the Management found out that i have a GAP.
Their Mistakes:-
1. Not scrutinising the documents in Stage I as i had attested the Affidavit there itself.
2. I m not a failure. I have passed in 1st attempt.
3. After granting me admssion now suddenly they have waked up from their sleep saying "You cant get the admission as you have a Gap of 1 year"
4. They inform me 1 1/2 days before the college commences.
Now, we are not to be blamed at all. Its all their fault. If our admission gets canceled then we will be aproaching the Media and will Drag the College and the University to Court.
What a Birthday Gift have i got in advance!!
I want to know from you my friends is that anything wrong if i have a GAP of 1 year?? Does that mean that i wont be able to study at all as every college says that you will be given the Last preference.
Can anyone tell me is there any such rule made by the Mumbai University?
Plz guys if this situation gets out of control then i ll need your help in every possible way you can give me.
