'Xavotsav' is the Annual Festival of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. It has been the most awaited event every year for almost 2 decades!
Mission
With the theme of Xavotsav 2013 being 'Ascension' we shall endeavour to bring to the forefront true talent that has long remained hidden. It shall move towards reminding the youth of the importance of finding oneself; of standing out in the midst of a crowd. It is high time that young people prioritised their individuality over mere existence. It’s time to resurrect from the ashes that this fast paced world has suppressed us under and fly higher than we ever thought we could reach.

St. Xavier’s College Students’ Union proudly presents Xavotsav 2013, a platform for the talented to Resurrect. Xavotsav 2013 shall be the medium for the youth to find themselves under all the layers that bury their true self. Xavotsav 2013 shall be their stepping stone.
St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata believes in creating men and women for others. However, this is not possible until we build ourselves into strong individuals first. It is not possible or responsible to spread the light of hope if we ourselves don’t radiate that hope. We can’t give unto others what we ourselves lack. Thus, self confidence and a belief in one’s own capability is essential. Self discovery is the key.
The world seems to be creeping under the gloomy rumours of the Apocalypse; the youth seem to have lost the interest of moving forward fearing it shall be in vain. But they forget that cowardice has never been the root of success. It is the bold and the daring that taste the sweet fruit of perseverance and every risk taken always is a learning experience.
Xavotsav 2013 throws and open challenge to every student who will dare to unravel the truth and transcend their own incapabilities to unmask their inner strengths. Xavotsav 2013 is only a forum, the real strength lies within YOU. Unleash the power of the “I” and assert its priority over everything else. Remember, Nihil Ultra, nothing lies beyond your reach. It’s all about conquering your fears and putting aside your inhibitions.
