This institute has been training rural entrepreneurs since 1974.

It has functioning in close co-operation with vikas maitri, a social organization operating in the villages of ranchi, in bihar district.

All the entrepreneurship development programmes of vikas maitri are undertaken by Xavier’s institute of social science.

They provide training a nd assist the trainees in drafting project proposals and in obtaining the required finance.

The programme cosists of:

1. Identification and selection of candidates.

2. Managerial training.

3. Motivating training.

4. Placement and training for practical skill.

5. Financial assistance.

6. Market survey and preparation of project report.
