I agree because I already believe that people on this planet DO speak the same language in a way: The language of love and/or hate.
I disagree because to pick any language over another would be just about impossible to implement.
If your primary language is English, it's easy to think that everyone should speak English.
English IS the world's most recognized trade language (business language).
This is because English has evolved from many European languages and to this day carries elements of these.
Yes, that includes German, but also Latin, Greek, Danish, and many other originating languages.
Remember that modern English was formed by PEOPLE who congregated in this great beautiful country but originally came from other countries, usually in Europe, and brought some of their language with them.
Across the globe, in countries like Asia, India, Africa, etc. other languages exist. These have little in common with English when you look at the linguistic side (the spoken or written word).
A few decades ago, someone thought that a world language should exist that would unite all peoples of all geographical origins.
This language was called "Esperanto"
Educated people from many countries got together and tried to construct a 'world language'.
