With Chinese mobiles comming in Indian Mkt,will it pose a threat to other mob brands

hello,

After goin thru this thread i wud like to comment that as far as other brands are concerned Chinese mobile phones will pose threat to these brands... i ve recently completed my summer project in Nokia on consumer behaviour.... accordin to my research people change their phones quite often( majority said between 1-2 yrs) n the main reason being the features offered... consumers r not very brand loyal n if they get a brand offerin new features they wud definitely opt foir that brand e1 if it is new in the market... Chinese phones copy these brands n offer them at very low prices... the only problem is warranty but customers hardly cares as they keep on changin their handsets... this is definitely a disadvantage for big brands in market

Def s. I hope it will break the mob chain which is prevailing in the market by the terrorist. Hope it would be big drawback for them & good news for us. :lmfaoo:

i accept the facts that due to CHEAP prices the CHINESE mobiles can be a threat to the INDIA MOBILE players.
but i m of the notion that in INDIA, people are more focuses on parameters like DURABILITY, RESISTANCE, RESALE VALUE etc. and it's pretty obvious from the fact that NOKIA is tha market leader in INDIA owing to the listed facts only.
so although the CHINESE mobiles have a cost advantage but due to lack in these aspects, it would be difficult for CHINESE mobiles to eat away INDIAN market.
YEAH, i accept that these CHINESE mobiles can pose a big threat to small players like SIEMENS, BIRD etc but not to the mighty ones like NOKIA, SONY ERICSSON....

with the entry of chinese mobiles, i dont think it poses a challlege to indian market. Though they are cheap, they are nuisance as there is no gurantee of their performance and accountability. Moreover mobiles have become a fashion accessory now a days and so people keep on adding or changing to the latest mobile handset in the market, otherwise every mobiles does atleast the basic function of receiving and making a call!

after vewing ths thread i would like to tell u tht though chinese mobiles r cheap n risky to use as compare to others like nokia, but when we look towards the consumers mentality most of them who like the high soud quality as well the looks will go to buy it n most imp factor we cant ignor that peoples like to keep changing usually yuth.....:SugarwareZ-211: :SugarwareZ-180:

Its not the hidden that Chinese products are poor but it is much necessary for any product to be perfect in quality,, easy accessible and latest in technology

With Chinese mobiles comming in Indian Mkt,will it pose a threat to other mob brands like Nokia , Samsung , Motorola.

These chinese cell are available in many places , and are affordable by everyone. They hav few added and Enhanced features.
Only problem is the gurantee.
So can we say that if a chinese brand comes in India and provides a serivce centre and warranty for these cells. Its going to sweep the market smoothly.

Who said Chinese products dont have quality??? China produces most stuffs for USA... even surgical blades are made from china!

no, i dont think so, each and every brand has its own reputation, people satisfied with the other brands wil not switch over to chinese mobiles, definitely the competition increases, but still indian market wil not go down

I dont think so, people in India today are well educated to make a clear differentiation between the brands and the local/chinese material. For instance,Brands like NOKIA has created the biggest monopoly for mobile devices in India and the impact is such that even an uneducated person opts only for Nokia and no other brand.

consider if chinese can produce mobile at 5000 why cant nokia, motorola, and others.

I personally feel, the branded mobile phone companies are making huge amount of PROFITS

yes cheaper chinese phone are a threat too big brands like NOKIA, SAMSUNG etc
but since the quality of chinese mobile is not that very good so they might not be a threat in long run

After the ban on Chinese mobile handsets which did not have IMEI number, the government is now concerned about the illegal market dealings and revenue loss thereby.

Recently, mobile phones without International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number were banned in India. But estimates say that nearly Rs. 4,000 crore worth unbranded mobiles were imported in the previous fiscal, according to sources.

The Indian government is now worried of the revenue loss because of such imports. The government loses revenue due to non-payment of key taxes such as Value Added Tax, Octroi duty and even entry tax.
