With Chinese mobiles comming in Indian Mkt,will it pose a threat to other mob brands

these days the mobiles are being changed very often...so people will buy them ............................................ so it is a threat...................................................

I read a artical, in which they give a figure about the number of chinese mobiles imported in our country...do you believe it is 7 lakhs per month

actually today there are new companies coming up due to wch the mobile market is getting hampered d prices of mobiles have slashed down drastically with more n more better facilities n quality.........

Yes, if they Open a service centre, they will fire the market, Coz Mobile Upgrade n changin is very common in almost all emerging markets.

Many Mpites must hav changed their cells least once.
The Chinese highend features lookalike r very cheap, only thing ppl worry if at all it will last till they tak it home, however ther r few who r still buying it right away. Coz looks makes all he difference

chinese mobiles do give many features than other branded mobiles at very cheap rates......but the only problem is tht they dont have ne guarantee.....if the mobile works f99 then u can use it for years but if it dosent work then its a waste of many.....and people in india want quality, guarantee and waranty at affordable prices tht only branded mobiles can offer...so though the branded mobiles r little costlier its preferable to buy rather than takin ne chinese mobile......on the other hand if ur a gizmo freak and like to change ur mobile often then u can go for chinese mobile as it will not hurt ur pocket....[:)]

Quality may be a problem but we are forgetting the Tier III cities where aspirations are higher than the purchasing power.. Even in metros where everone from your maid to the subziwala carries a mobile, chinese products will reach out to a vast number of ppl who cld till now only afford second hand and outdated mobile sets.
Chinese products will definitely affect the bottomlines of companies

i just thought of a question in this respect ...

Does anyone have any info about anti-dumping laws in india ? Any idea whether they are applied to chinese products?
All i cld figure out from google was that low price does not automatically subject you to anti-dumping laws but i'm clueless wrt china ..

can anyone shed some light on this matter

chinees mobiles do not have quality and they are not reliable even they r not supporting various application, if u user wants quality then he/she will not go for this....

yes dude , i agree with u ..my frnd bought a chinese mobile for Rs 6500, he used it for 2-3 months ...but later...had problems with it and was left with no option but to buy a new one ...

well the question is that of reliability!!
few of my frnds and acquaintances did purchase but was off in few months!!

but the technology is amazing like tv on fone and edge and the sound and gui.

only if some warranty and service centres...then it may become a real threat to these brands!!

cos nokia sulks neways!!!

the question really is.. will you be comfortable flaunting a 5k CHINESE iphone look alike phone, when your friends are trying their hands on the latest HTC Slide or Advantage.

It's got more to do with the brand and professionals will never settle for a chinese cheapster

I too heard chinese mobile already hit streets... camera, edge and all stuff and price less than 4000rupees!!

If the quality is good enough, then they will definitely posses a threat! no doubt!
but it take some time for the chinese mobiles to conquer the market..

It is this period of time to watch out for... If the existing companeis dodnt make much move then they might be in troubl!!

Letssee!

chinese market are capturing indian market due to theri low pricing strategy.....and since+ indian consumer are price+ sensitive.....they more eager to buy such product w+hich give all the functions w+hich a normable mobile at similar cost cant give. also there are some customer who keeps on changing their mobile after every six months....so for this type of customer....chinese mobile are great boon.. and therefore chinese market is definately a threat to indian market. so in near future w+e can see that chinese market has acq+uired major share in the mobile market. thats all i w+anted to say. thank you. If the quality is good enough, then they will definitely posses a threat! no doubt!

Hello,

The Chinese models would, of course, lack on the warranty and customer support part. But, availability of 'expensive' features at low costs has certainly caught the focus of the industry and the customers. Maybe introduction of the ‘use-and-throw’ concept in the cell phone industry isn’t too far away. Whatever the long-term results may be, cell phone prices in India are definitely expected to fall, yet again. So, Nokia Samsung need to wake up!

quality of chinese phones is much lower than branded phones. it will only tap some low cost mobile phone buyers, who want more features for low price

yes cheaper chinese phone are a threat too big brands like NOKIA, SAMSUNG etc
but since the quality of chinese mobile is not that very good so they might not be a threat in long run

It is true that chinese mobile are flooded in Indian market and also it is affordable to every one to buy but it can cause threat to security since there is no IMEI numbers on chinese mobiles
