<h2>Wikipedia turns Jawaharlal Nehru to Jawaharlal Ghazi</h2>
History is written by the winners and there is no authenticity which provides accurate information. Well, even today the news are flashed which leads to camouflage and confounding. The honorable prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru turns Ghazi form Nehru, malicious and repugnant changes were made to the Wikipedia page on the life of Jawaharlal Nehru from a Government of India Internet protocol (IP) address.
As per the changes, it is stated that Nehru's grandfather Gangadhar Nehru was a Muslim called Ghiasuddin Ghazi, Ironically, it did not stop here, and it also says that he was born in a red - light district of Allahabad and gross details of his salacious relationship with Edwina Mountbatten, wife of Lord Mountbatten, India's first Governor General. The Congress on Wednesday was outraged. "Wikipedia pages of Jawaharlal Nehru and Motilal Nehru were altered. What is worse, it was done from a government IP and using NIC (National Informatics Centre) computers. Will PM Narendra Modi answer how were Wikipedia pages of a former Prime Minister and Congress leaders altered through a government IP?" Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.
These edits were later deleted by the volunteer editors of the online encyclopedia. The discovery was broadcast by @AnonGolWPEdits – the twitter handle software created by Pranesh Prakash. Pranesh, policy director at Centre for Internet and Society, observed that information has been altered and that too from same IP address. When the IP was verified on whois.domaintools.com, it revealed that it belongs to government owned National Informatics Centre (NIC). "All this shows is that it is an IP address provided by NIC. It doesn't say anything more than that," said Prakash. When asked if the user could be pinpointed, he said that it would be difficult as it isn't clear as to who all have access to the NIC network.
"Most edits are inane. A great number merely introduce spelling errors," said Prakash. Once in a while, interesting edits like these happen only to be reverted by the strong Wiki community as most of these edits are without citations or attribution. "These changes were reverted in minutes, in one case in one minute," Prakash said.
It seems like Modi government is drooling for controversies, and has been under scanner for helping former IPL chief Lalit Modi and the involvement of Pankaja Munde’s name in chikki scam. Congress seek answers from Narendra Modi’s and his reticence is just making the situation bad to worse.
