Why should media be spared from questioning?

In any Democracy, Media has a great role to play. But does that mean Media can do anything it wishes? why was Media spared from questioning for the role it played during when Operation 'flushing out terrorists' was still on?

Why should media not be held accountable for its ommissions and commisssions?Is Media beyond and above law of India?

Well, I think its a good idea by maintaining some laws for holding media accountable. but is more important is how well is the law implemented!

In my opinion, media should not be spared of questioning because no one in this country is above law. Moreover, if media is given certain rights to question people , officials or bureaucrats, they themselves should also be eligible of answering a set of questions. Media of our should act more responsibly specially in a country where caste and community riots are on such hype!
