Why more ppl in India are servie oriented rather than entrepreneurship?

perhaps because people in India are not very career oriented and hence see their jobs as a way of earning and not as a way of living

I completlely agree with the above post.It is rightly said in economics, profit is a reward earned by an entrepreneur for bearing a risk.
Indians believing in saving rather than spending or even investing. Since a fixed salaried job serves the purpose of meeting the basic needs without taking much risk and also managing to save some for their future, they find it an easier option.

Many people posses the technical know how but lack the finiancial support to execute their ideas...

hi....i think people are scared to take risk and prefer routine way which is tried and tested by most of the people and also scared of failure

Hi,

In my opinion following are the reasons:

1. Business involves more risk : Most of the time Family trend leads a person to make money rather than investing at early stages of career.

2. An Approach : Few think, before going in to entrepreneurship they must have people skills, vision and tenacity.

Further to that, some of these remain continuing and get satisfactory life long results and few move towards business-ship later on, utilizing their experience and get monetary returns in the long run.

Hello

THE MAIN REASON IS LACK OF SUPPORT FROM THE GOVERMENT LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY ETC..TO GIVE CONFIDENCE TO PPL TO OPT FOR entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is a long term and idea where the economies will become self sustained and will not have to depend on external factors. The job will be created with in.

If it is service oriented we will survive only until a customer exists...

hey
more on a ground level and psychological point of view, i think certain sect of people are born entrpreneurs like the gujarathi's marvadi's and mostly people from the north due to their strong outgoing culture and risk taking attitude. but if you look at the kind of business they are into, it involves a lot of street smartness and talking people out. but the brainees form the east and the south are generally not so smart and outgoing and are rather intorverts. so they lack entrepreneurial qualities may be.. like the saying thinkers are not actionists and action oriented people may not be thinkers

It is all about the mentality of our people.we prioritize SECURITY first than independence. Here in India we think that entrepreneur is the one who has achieved a lot in a short span of time hence we give credits to those people only. We don't even recognize the small and medium entrepreneurs like shopkeepers, dept store, kirana store etc so we think that service is better option. But my friends I would like to say that entrepreneur is the king be at small level.

Thanks

If we talk about Indian they are risk averse in nature their priority is security which is not their in entrepreneurship. No doubt Indians are also equally talented, educated but their is lack of creative and diverse thinking.Second thing is time, in case of entrepreneurship the time duration to get the returns can be long whereas if you are engaged in job the surity of getting salary at the end of each month is their.

Yea Renu...
Risk perception and a kind of mentality towards service class.
Rather some people think dat - establishing a new enterprise means the requirement of huge funds wich involves risk.
But i think dat if u have a gud investment plan, ther is no need to worry about finance
"an investment decision makes more money than a financing decision"

hay guys,
People in India are more service oriented because in service u get a fix salary and there is no risk. On the other hand when you start a business, sometimes you can get more profit and sometimes you may have to face loss also. People in India try to avoid the risky factor and this is the reason we have less entrepreneurs.
