I am B.Tech in electronics and communications with 2 years of work ex. which comprises of BPOs and from last 3 months I am into corporte marketing of educational reference products which is non BPO profile. I am confused should I go in for part time mba or executive mba like that offered by hughes or a regular one???
Also, should I go in for marketing as specialisation or in IT in mba??
Suppose I go in for distance edu. MBA from institute like AIMA in marketing will it be advantageous in switch to some other organization.....

Could you elaborate your profile in BPO org and the reason for inclination towards MBA in systems.

Suppose I go in for distance edu. MBA from institute like AIMA in marketing will it be advantageous in switch to some other organization.....

Part time course would be a better option than distance education because it gives you classroom exposure and networking opportunities with people from diverse fields with varied work experience.

Thanks kartik for the advice....
Actually in BPOs I was into technical support....but kept changing the jobs for about 1 and a half year....presently into...corporate marketing and enjoying that ...but will need mba to switch the job..as m Btech and working in marketing...after BPOs. So looking for MBA but confused abt which field of MBA to go in for wether IT or marketing or something else.....that too part timeor full time

hello dear
as seen your qualification i suggest u to go for part time mba course which would help you in future and please do not live your current job because it will give u experience. and experience counts in industry.
your another question is related with your functional area so it will depends on you i mean that choose the area which you like most and in which u make your career better .
thanx

me too doing mba.in my opinion u must go in for regular course offered by top b-schools, otherwise mba ka koi fayada nai.
n abt specialization i suggest u to go in for marketing as major n it as minor,as there r plenty of jobs in marketing........a lot of scope to grow.moreover ur past work exp will help u to better serve ur clients

I suppose you could go in for a specialization in Operations...Have you thought about that ? It's more synchronous with the kind of work you have done in the past.
A full time MBA is way better than a part-time one(MAYBE ONE FROM A GOOD COLLEGE COULD HELP, LIKE NM), trust me on this...and no distance education and all that stuff, please !!
The very motive of doing an MBA is to gain a hands-on-experience of how the industry works and functions. There's no way a distance education MBA can give this to you.

hmmm...... you have not mentioned if it would be feasible for you to leave job now or not.... in case, you are not able to leave job then go for a part time MBA..... it'll not give you a campus placement, always..... but still, its better than a distance program..... but in case, you are financially strong enough to leave job for 2 years now, then try and go for a full time MBA.... as far as specialization is concerned.... the first year is general for all.... you'll be introduced to all the papers.... at the end of first year, decide where you wanna go.... its not always necessary to be sure about your specialization from the very beginning....

hey boss... As per my understanding...

U have a B.Tech degree/2 yr workex (mostly in bpo)...

So,

1. U have a workex which u mayn't leverage in IT industries... Though some operation companies may consider this (covansys, CTS)...

2. Doing a part time mba mayn't provide u dat kindda value... Go 4 mba F/T

3. Regarding college... apart fm IIMs if u want to go for marketing with IT in mind (BA profile) IMT Ghaziabad is known for it... For Finance choose some college in Mumbai.... or MDI Gurgaon... for detail u can always contact me..

enjoy
