what would you prefer as an Employee ?

Imagine yourself as an employee of a company that is looking at various options to cut the operating costs. Let's assume that the company has about 20,000 employees on its roll. The management decides to give its employees a choice: -
1. Every employee takes a cut in his/her salary: 30% flat.
2. Layoff 10% of the employees.
A mailer is circulated and employees are asked to vote. Which option would you choose? Why?

I think 30% is a bit too much. I know companies here who have announced salary cuts of about 7-10%

There are not many opportunities left if we go for lay off, because of global melt down. Its always better to earn something than nothing.

i dont think anybody will put an option of cutting off 30% instead it can much lesser then we can accept this because we can hit the stomach of our co-workers

Even, I think that 1st option is better to vote than second option, because, there is always an uncertanity to get a new job in such a time of crisis. It is better, that u atlst earn something!
