What makes you decide to dislike someone?

We all use the word hate or dislike, but I am not sure, how this can happen even if you don’t know the person.

Surely you have to have a valid reason but people can dislike someone they have not met or spoke to before. I find that amazing!

What do you think?
 
I guess media/communication plays a vital role in hating/disliking someone whom you've never met or personally associated with.

For example If one have to believe the media reports Cricketers 'Sreesanth' and 'Harbhajan' are known to be bad boys of Indian cricket for quite sometime for their action on/off the field. And I am just sick of the sight of these two fellas even though i have no knowledge about them personally. This reaction of mine is purely based on what i saw or read from the paper/tv.

I am not sure whether I am right or wrong in saying this but i guess it is possible for one to hate or dislike someone without having any personal experience with that person.
 
yes media does play a role in projecting someones personality in a way that leads to hating them...
but apart from these celebrity personalities there are people we meet in our daily lives...we often tend to dislike them just for no apparent reason...

do you feel the same or is it just me..?

I do agree with you on that. IMHO, most of the times feeling of Dislike or Hate starts with our own prejudices on others.
