What do you think will India be able to meet the requirements of growing population ?

Every one of us know where India stands in Population, will we be able to meet all the needs by importing from other countries ? What about Land and Water others can be linked up later but what about these two ?

Land is such a thing which cannot be produced, India is a peace loving country which cannot wage wars and occupy other country's land, we don't have resources to backfill ocean.

In this context the next 20years plan should concentrate on using land either cultivable or residential to produce multiple returns. High yielding crops needs to be cultivated less land more yield, alternative foods to be thought off Alternatives to paddy and wheat. More multi storied buildings need to be constructed and construction of individual houses to be restricted.

Desalination and recycling of water is a costly affair and can be done only in small parts of the country. scientists should come up with crops which need water in small quantities. All the river basins should have aquifer recharing facilities at micro basin level.

growing population this is not a joke that we hold second position in population but ya i m not aware about the requirement that we Indians stand, as its we humans, we have a tendency of having recurring wants that never stops it only gets increasing likely to say "agar thoda jyada milta toh aacha hota", can't help it man.

population is nt only problem of India but also problen of whole world, as population is increasing basic requirement like food, shelter,etc is incerasing bt resource are decreasing day by day........................

definately we will meet all our requirements,meeting the requrements is not a very big problem ,major challange is distribution of benefits to those who need them , in addition loss in transportation, pilferages and adoption of fair policy is the need of the hour
