Marketing concepts or philosophies
This deals with bringing out the meaning of marketing and what different organizations do when conducting marketing activities.
Product concept. It assumes that customers know the available products and buy those that are reasonably priced. It is noted that customer buying decision is being influenced by the product its self, quality, quantity, performance and quality features.
Selling concept. It assumes that consumers buy but they don’t buy enough and need to be induced to buy more by some sales efforts.
Marketing concept. It assumes that marketing begins from the market, identify the needs and produce to meet the needs. It also states that on the market the customer is the king.
Production concept. It assumes that the consumers will buy those products that are available and well priced.
Societal marketing concept. it assumes that marketing should not only look at customer needs and organizational goals but also put into consideration the society.
