Re: international logistic managemant

1. Logistic:-
The term Logistics Management or supply chain management is that part of Supply Chain Management that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective, forward, and reverse flow and storage of goods, services, and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customers’ requirements.
2. Transport:-
Transportation involves the physical movement or flow of goods. The transportation system is the physical link that connects customers, raw material suppliers, plants, warehouses and channel members. These are the fixed points in a logistics supply chain.

3. SCM:-
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the management of a network of interconnected businesses involved in the ultimate provision of product and service packages required by end customers (Harland, 1996).[1] Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption (supply chain).
Another definition is provided by the APICS Dictionary when it defines SCM as the "design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and measuring performance globally."

4. Total Logistic Cost:-
Total logistics costs consider the whole range of costs associated with logistics, which includes transport and warehousing costs, but also inventory carrying, administration and order processing costs.
5. What Are The Trust Area Of SC:-
Trust is a critical factor fostering commitment among SC partners. The presence of trust improves measurably the chance of successful SC performance. A lack of trust among SC partners often results in inefficient and ineffective performance as the transaction costs (verification, inspections and certifications of their trading partners) mount.
6. Bullwhip is called as----- Forrester Effect
7. Causes Of Bullwhip in SC:-
BEHAVIOURAL CAUSES
Misuse of base-stock policies
Misperceptions of feedback and time delays
Panic ordering reactions after unmet demand
Perceived risk of other players' bounded rationality
OPERATIONAL CAUSES
Dependent demand processing
forecast errors
Adjustment of inventory control parameters with each demand observation
Lead time variability (forecast error during replenishment lead time)
Lot-sizing/order synchronization
Consolidation of demands
Transaction motive
Quantity discount
Trade promotion and forward buying
Anticipation of shortages
Allocation rule of suppliers
Shortage gaming
Lean and jit style management of inventories and a chase production strategy

8. Benefits Of Vertical Integration in Logistic:-
 Reduce transportation costs if common ownership results in closer geographic proximity
 Improves supply chain coordination
 Provides more opportunities to differentiate by means of increased control over inputs
 Capture upstream or downstream profit margins
 Increase entry barriers to potential competitors
 Lead to expansion of core competencies
9. Customer Competitiveness:-
High stocks of finished goods are used to compensate for infrequent orders, slow moving products or chaotic demand, which represents our sales and marketing inefficiencies.
-The customer must pay for these too.
