Prin L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research hosted a conclave on 'Rising North-East India'
Chief Guest Hon' Governor of Maharashtra, Shri CV Rao encouraged youth to come forward and join hands to spur the national growth
Mumbai 19th Nov 2015: Prin L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool) along with Vivek (Hindi) Magazine hosted a conclave on the Rising North-East India, bringing in more progress and inclusiveness in presence of Hon' Governor of Maharashtra Shri C V Rao and Shri Dattatray Hosbale, Joint General Secretary, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS).
Our Hon' Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, post his recent visit to the North-East, rightly described the region as the 'Ashta Lakshmi' that will play an important role in India's development.
Shri Dattatray Hosbale, Joint General Secretary, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) was one of the key speakers at the event. He shared the efforts taken place in support of the national campaign and highlighted the potential of the North-Eastern States that remained undiscovered for a long time.
Hon' Governor of Maharashtra, Shri CV Rao spoke about how the North-East region has tremendous potential to contribute and further India's economic and social development. He said, "Maharashtra as a state must come forward in order to provide technical and management skills to support the students of North-Eastern States and make facilities available for them. The eight-states of the north-east are rich in their heritage and have always received high tourist attraction. He emphasized on the potential of the youth in the north-east region and added, I strongly recommend education institutes like WeSchool to come forward and encourage students and specially girls to learn new skills and compete at the national level."
Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, spoke about the role of education institutions in the inclusion of North-East India. He said, "As a representative of the education fraternity, I believe we should focus on three mantras of Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship that will help to nurture and develop the youth community and the nation. WeSchool believes in building Global Citizen Leaders, and as an institute we work towards instilling leadership skills in youth community and the budding entrepreneurs. With this in mind, we have initiated Project Netrutva, under which we groom students coming from economically weaker backgrounds and offer them an opportunity to attain management education to facilitate in building their career."
He also said, "Given the right opportunity and providing an inclusive structure to the youth will help to provide an equal opportunity to students from financial weaker sections to excel as much as those with many resources."
He further added, "Leadership is critical to make important and impactful changes and the youth must be part of playing a role in it and experiencing it. If we as a nation take the leadership role in making changes in some key policies to improve inclusiveness, we will soon see youth believe and participate in the change and transformation we want to see."
The event also celebrated the release of the special Diwali edition of the Vivek (Hindi) Magazine titled 'Ashta Lakshmi Purvottar', highlighting the diverse culture and tradition of North-East States of India.
