hey friends.... i would like to know all yours views about WOM.... Word of Mouth as well as Workd of Mouse publicity....
As we all are in the virtual world now where most of our time is spend on internet what do u think is more effective.... mouse or mouth???
Please provide your suggestions.... am waiting and yaa thanks in advance for yours forthcoming answers........
 
Among the two, word-of-mouth reflects the true feelings of a customer.But in this Internet world since people don't have time to meet face-to-face,people are pouring their opinion thru Internet.Feedback must be provided fact-to-face and must be pointed and individualistic.But when you look for the blogs you could get 1000 positive responses and if you browse further you can get 1000 negative responses.As the saying goes,beauty lies in the eyes of beholder so does the feedback/comments.

Finally its upto to the individual who is going to take the decision based on the feedback given.

i wld say the word of mouth has major impact dan da workd of mouse..coz word of mouth involves verbal communication.....often people trust and are influenced by the words of thier folks and frendz...rather than the words on the internet...!! but yeah certainely w.o.mouse also influence people..as it is da techy world..ppl spend most of their tym on the net..people have different preferances...hence it depends on thier perception and also on information which they get..!!
 
again dear the beauty is the same........ how often u meet peoples psychically and the number of visits virtually....... check out the statistics for the same and then check the impact of both mouse and mouth..........
 
The availability of word of mouse is far more than word of mouth.

So when one person would recommend a product or bad mouth a service, a search on the net would give you 1000's of opinions and perceptions.

Word of mouth is effective but less available. Word of mouse has an upper hand in terms of availability.

I personally feel that Word of MOUSE is much better and effecient coz when you compare

Word of mouth is more Gossip oriented but
Word of Mouse is more Upgraded (Generalized),

Word of Mouth is more like a Secret that is been passed from one person to another,
where as Word of Mouse can be accessed and viewed by a large group of people,

Word of Mouth is limited to a boundary as an individual can't reach to each and every corner of the world,
where as Word of Mouse can easily reach to each an every corner of the world very easily,

The only Benefit that Word of Mouth has over Word of Mouse is that it is more easy to Convince and Persuade people through Word of Mouth rather that Word of Mouse

very well said mr. ross as we all know that the word of mouth would be restricted as per your limited circle....... whereas in case of internet we come across to different peoples whom we never know before as we are doing here too..
In this new era of blogging and sharing information there is no fixed boundry for the information to be passed around.......
so kartik u r correct in the term of availability.........
but friends what is the level of authenticity of the information in both cases.... I personally think that mouth is more authenticate then mouse what do u all think???

I disagree on the basis of a fundamental rule of statistics ie. the larger the sample size, the more accurate the hypothesis results.

In case of word of mouth, the sample size cannot be as large as that on the net . Hence proved :)
 
kartik u r correct in those hypothesis testing but friend I have said the above thing only because of several factors such as emotions, body language, and tone etc. sometimes helps in checking the authenticity of the information.......
which purely lacks on internet....... and other most important thing in Word of Mouth is that u spread the information to ur active circle who have faith on u and in this way the information spread becomes more valuable.........
Just take an example........ wat type of publicity have u done in ur MP's case and which one do u think was more effective??????????
 
In today modern world the mouse plays a pivitol role. from all the corners of the world information can be accessed and analysed. but the word of mouth is still the fastest and most efficient way of fast distribution of communication. no matter how much information we can get on the net still we are confined to the technology and its availability. the mouth can reach where the mouse cant and that what makes human contact irreplacable. we may come to a stage where everything is controlled by click of a mouse but we can never remove the human element from our life.
 
word of mouth is definitely better then becouse it providesth true feeling and connectivity..internet is not yet that strong that it can compete with word of mouth
 
very well said that till now mouse is not that much strong to take place of human element......... well untill and unless mouth is not there mouse can't be used........
 
Word pf mouse is better, in todays world every minute is valuable. You can earn from every min, With 1 click you can send 1000's of mails .
With 1 click you can convince people by wiritng in a blog or a forum .
Word of Mouse saves time.
It is effective to a certain extent but not as effective to word of mouth.
But its more convienent.
