i think it cannot be made compulsary. then it will undermine the very purpose of democracy of freedom. instead people can be made aware of their duties to vote. but compulsary voting is a strict no-no.

offcourse voting should be made compulsory. We are lucky to have the constitution which provides us with the right to vote and chose a Government who can work for the people. However, we only crib instead of voting and participating in the democratic process. We must remember that the concept of voting is one of the most important rights we have which keeping in mind the position of our nation has become a duty. Today our youth is drifting apart from the political scenario which is definately not a good sign since the political framework would affect our future. Hence, to ensure that we are a part of our democratic process we should definately make voting compulsory

I agree that Voting should be made compulsory, its because of the non voting from the educated people our country is suffering

Because of the non voting from the educated poliiticians are playing the caste game.
Ofcourse its our previlage to vote, we should clearly give our mandate

If all the educated guys start voting india as country can really progess well

Its a matter of people's conviction and belief, no one should be forced as it will not help getting people elected, on the contrary it will lead to a lot of uneducated votes being cast.

Making voting compulsory is not going to help. If it is done so people will not not vote sensibly. Only people should be educated the about how important it is to to vote judiciously and elect a suitable candidate and how each individual vote can improve the political system and put the county on the track of progress.
