Voting an effecient Weapon

well i certainly think that it is every citizens duty to vote..
vote is the only weapon whereby you can show your power as a citizen...while saying this..i would like to add..everyone should vote with utmost care..by studying the candidates past...educational qualifications...his vision ...etc..
people should not get carried away with intriguing speeches by the politicians and should use their mind...

I believe that voting was never a weapon, u might call it a pacifier of the after effects but not a weapon because people vote those who are available, and in my 18 yrs of life i've never seen a capable candidate. We just vote bcuz we have 2 and theirs no other option other than those leeches i might call them seasonal leeches who go for hibernation and come out only in the season of election.:SugarwareZ-151:

i think voting is a constitutional right given to us and should be used by everybody which further decides the future of our country.

I regret to inform that I am not of that opinion. No hard feelings, these are just my thoughts.
The problem with the system is there are too many bad guys.. so even if we cast our vote and select a good buy, either 1 of the 2 things will happen:
1. The good guy will be taken out of the job
2. They'll take the life out of the good guy
Either way we'll lose 1 good guy.

I want to save that good guy...

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution on how to tackle the bad guys...
They can't be arrested...
They can't be prosecuted...
They can't be angered (this will call for a bandh - probably national)

They will need money,
When they have money, they'll need more money
and when they have more money, they'll need even more

Well, what happened to the good guy? I don't know....

voting is not very efficient.people do not always put forward their intelligent judgement but are influenced by various society and sect issues.

i think you mean 'effective weapon' actually.

i don't think voting is particularly effective. the cost of running an election campaign is so prohibitive and so neccessarily carried out through non-banking channels that only major parties or underworld elements can stand for election with any chance of winning.

Major parties choose to field candidates based on criteria other than merit.

Eventually, who you vote for has no positive effect on the country.

What we actually need are better bureaucrats, since its they who actually run the country anyway. Politicians have always been scoundrels -the quality of governance depends on the civil service.

Yes, that's absolutely correct... this is exactly what i've been trying to tell in my post above.

Voting is an effective weapon and should be used properly
Well In country like India we vote using heart not using brain. A politician or a candidate come to our house stand for a while and ask about our well being and at that time we get attached to that candidate without looking is he is the person to lead our locality, area, district, state or country.
Politics is a field which is getting less good and more bad faces in todays world and voting has become meaningless because if a group of people want to change something they cannot change because they fall short of the huge support of that candidate most of supporters who support that particular candidate are either his party workers or the purchased ones.

VOTING IS AN EFFICIENT WEAPON BUT I MUST ALSO BE USED WISELY WITHOUT BIASNESS AND PERSON FEELING IT MUST BE STRICTLY ON THE BASIS OF WORK AND BACKGROUND OF CANDIDATE.
