VIGILANCE
The Vigilance Department is headed by Chief Vigilance Officer who is in the rank of General Manager and on deputation from the RBI. The fraud prevention and monitoring cell is also attached to vigilance department.
Cases of frauds involving Rs.1 lakh and above are placed before the audit committee of the board for detailed discussion and reports are made to RBI. The direction given by the ACB is strictly complied with. Quarterly review of all fraud cases and an annual review report are placed before the Board promptly.
During the year, in compliance with RBI’s instructions, special committee of the Board was constituted to review frauds involving Rs.1 crore and above. Every effort is made to plug any loopholes observed in systems so as to prevent recurrence of similar frauds.
