Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu at VIT AP University at Amaravati

The Vice President Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu along with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri N.Chandra Babu Naidu inaugurated the VIT-AP University Academic and Hostel Blocks (Vellore Institute of Technology- AP University) at Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh here today. While delivering the inaugural address the Vice President said that Education is not only for employment but also for enlightenment and empowerment. Irrespective of caste, color, creed, religion and sex people should come forward to unite together for the development of the nation. Economic disparities and social evils can be eradicated through education. The purpose of education is for emancipation, enlightenment, empowerment, empathy and employment, building character and making an ideal human being. Destiny of a country is shaped in the Class Rooms, he added.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri N.Chandra Babu Naidu said that VIT-AP University is established in Amaravati with the aim of providing excellent learning experiences. He appreciated the speedy establishment of 200-Acre VIT-AP University campus in Amaravati, which has been his vision of ensuring international exposure for the students of Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister thanked each and every farmer who gave away their lands for the construction of a new capital. Without the support of farmers land pooling of 33,500 acres, it would not be possible, he added.

VIT Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan spoke about their vision to offer quality education to one and all. VIT Vice President Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Mr. G.V. Selvam and VIT AP Vice Chancellor Dr. Subhakar, VIT AP Executive Director Sandhya Penta Reddy, Assistant Vice President Kadhambari S Viswanathan and local MLAs, MPs and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

VIT Vellore and Chennai campuses are most sought campuses in the country for students pursuing higher education. At the new campuses in Bhopal and Amaravati VIT would offer similar programs which are being offered in the other campuses. M.Tech in Software Engineering (5-year Integrated. Admission after 12th Std). abd Ph.D. in Engineering / Science / Management / Humanities.

Admissions to the B.Tech degree programmes are through VIT Engineering Entrance Examinations – VITEEE, which is common for all the four VIT campuses (Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati). VITEEE-2018 will be held as Computer Based Test (CBT) between April 4 and 15, 2018 at 124 locations at all important towns and cities in the country (including the four campuses) and also in Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Muscat.

One can apply online at www.vit.ac.in. Last date for applying is February 28, 2018. The application forms can also be collected from 30 Head Post Offices all over India or the four campuses by paying Rs.1,200.00 or with a demand draft drawn in favour of VIT.?
