The Allahabad high court on Friday directed to hear on April 9 a writ petition challenging the advertisement issued by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) in 2013 for holding the examination of lower subordinate. The examination will be held on April 6. The petitioner, Bhasker Singh, has also requested the court to direct the UPPSC to permit him to provisionally appear in the forthcoming examination of lower subordinate, scheduled to be held on April 6.

The court passed the above order on a writ petition filed by Bhasker Singh. The petitioner has contended that this examination was not held by UPPSC in two previous sessions 2009 and 2011. He contended that during this period, he was within the age limit to appear in this examination. However, when the above advertisement of 2013 was announced, he had become overage. Therefore, he should be permitted to appear in this examination, as he has lost opportunity to appear in this examination because of no fault of his own.
