Training & HR - Same or seperate departments

I think it depends on the company size and technicality of the processes. In some companies T&D is the part of HR and they keep liaison with the technical Dept. to fulfill their technical training needs and in some large organizations it is a separate dept.

I think that T&D shud be the part of HR dept. only cz it is one of d part of HRM, also in d times of recession that is right now d companies are facing having a separate dept for one of d activity of HRM is too costly!! but again it also depends on the size of the compny..

T&D has always been and part of the HR as its the the Human Resource Department who recruit an employee in the organisation nd hence is well aware of his areas of strengths and areas of weakness where training is required for the same.
 
Training & Hr are same because HR takes care of the overall development of the employees and training is one of the steps taken for the overall development of the employees..:)claps
 
Well training forms the initial and well as improving skills for the employees..whereas HR process are related with day to day working and performance checking of the employees.. since they go hand in hand.. i feel they should be same dept.
