Hult’s MBA is among the world’s top 1%
best business schools
Hult’s MBA program has been ranked in the
top 25 business schools in the U.S. and top
50 in the world by The Economist (2009),
and currently ranks in the Financial Times’
top 100 business schools in the world. This
ranking recognizes our uniquely international
focus, the quality of our program and faculty,
and our exceptional student body and alumni
network. Our students’ ability to find employment
and increase their earning power, as well as
the diversity of the industries they enter after
completion, are key factors in this ranking.
Hult International Business School is a fully
accredited member of the New England

and is also accredited by the Association of
MBAs (AMBA). Hult is the first U.S. program ever
to be accredited by AMBA.
What Makes Us Different ?
Hult’s Global Rotation Program provides an
extraordinary opportunity to study in the
world’s fastest growing economies
An international perspective is crucial to
understanding today’s business issues. Hult’s
Global Rotation Program allows students to gain
critical insights into the world’s key economies.
You can opt to pursue your MBA in Boston,
San Francisco, London, or Dubai. No matter
which home campus you choose, you will
receive the same fully accredited one-year MBA
education of identical quality, using an identical
curriculum. Students will spend nine months
at their home campus (Boston, San Francisco,
London, or Dubai) for the core courses. When
students move on to their elective modules, they
will be given an option to study at Hult’s other
campuses. Shanghai’s study abroad campus is
available during the first elective module.
Hult’s one-year payback—comparison with
other MBA schools
Hult’s MBA pays for itself in half the time of other
programs, representing a very smart investment.
Furthermore, our students command
competitive starting salaries when equipped with
a Hult MBA. In combination with the fact that
our one-year MBA costs less and gets students
back to the workforce sooner, our graduates
are, on average, able to recoup their investment
in just over a year. This is far quicker than
traditional two-year U.S. MBA programs or more
expensive one-year European MBA programs.
This means that a Hult MBA not only amplifies
your earning power, but also maximizes your
time and resources. Please see the chart below
for a comparison with other programs.
Pioneers in Action Learning
Action Learning integrates classroom teaching
with real-life situations. At Hult, we focus on
“learning by doing”, not simply sitting in a
classroom, but actually going into the real
world and applying the tools and concepts to
real business situations. Theory is taught in
the classroom through lectures and required
readings. The theory is put to the test in real-life
situations through case studies of actual business
problems and business simulations. An integral
part of our curriculum is the Action Learning
Project, which gives you the chance to apply
the skills you have learned in the classroom and
work as part of a small team focused on solving a
current business problem for a real company.
A truly international student body
For over 40 years we have been training leaders
from all over the world—from Spain to South
Africa, Iceland to India, and China to Chile. Our
current student body is made up of experienced
professionals from over 80 different countries with
an average age of 30, and with an average of
seven years of work experience. The breadth of
experience, insight, and cultural perspectives that
our students bring to the classroom creates an
extraordinary learning experience.
Our world-class faculty possesses
real-world business experience
Our global faculty has outstanding academic
credentials combined with real-life experience
running and managing successful businesses.
Hult professors are seasoned professionals with
expertise in teaching international managers—80
percent have extensive international experience
and many are citizens of countries other than
the U.S. A substantial portion of our faculty are
practitioners and are actively engaged as directors
of corporations, consultants, or managers of
growth companies.
For over 40 years, we have attracted top
international students to our unique one-year MBA.
Our campuses around the world help train global
business leaders. What makes us so successful?
Earn a valuable degree in one year instead of the traditional two years. Hult develops global business leaders.

Fernando Cabral
Executive VP
IDEIA para a cidadania, Portugal
Portugal, Class of 2008
I consider myself fortunate for
having had the opportunity to
take the Hult MBA. One year that
changed the way I experience the
world and accept the richness
of diversity. The time I spent in
Shanghai was the crowning point
of my multicultural experience.
One thing is to read or hear about
China, another very different is to
experience it.
Hult Shanghai
Shanghai is a city of breathtaking transformations—modern
skyscrapers juxtaposed next to ancient lane houses, and
sophisticated shops neighboring open-air markets. You
can take elective courses at our study abroad campus in
the heart of this remarkable city-on-the-move.
The “Pearl of the Orient”
The ascendancy of China as an economic
superpower is centered in Shanghai. Known
as the “Pearl of the Orient”, Shanghai has been
compared to New York or Paris in sophistication
and trend-setting power. With nearly 17 million
residents, Shanghai is one of the world’s
largest cities and is considered China’s most
cosmopolitan metropolis.
Amazing downtown location
Hult’s downtown campus sits in the heart of
this dynamic and fast-paced city, and is located
in the city’s commercial, financial, retail, and
social center. Footsteps away are Shanghai’s
most famous shopping street, Nanjing Road,
and the extraordinary Shanghai Museum. Our
school recently won first place in an architectural
interior design competition for its state-of-the-art
classrooms, computer laboratories, comfortable
student lounges, and distinctive furnishings.
Convenient subway and public transportation
access make it easy for you to explore the
city. Residential accommodations are a short
commute away.
Hult’s Global Rotation Program—study in
Shanghai for your electives
Hult’s Shanghai study abroad campus is
available during the first elective module. During
this module (6 to 8 weeks) in Shanghai, special
extracurricular activities will be arranged to
enrich the learning experience and provide
students with the opportunity to develop
excellent knowledge of the city and culture.
Besides gaining a better understanding of the
practicalities of doing business in Asia, students
will also have opportunities to visit companies
and network with senior executives and business
leaders in the region.
Enriching excursions, speakers,
and cultural activities
Led by Hult professors and accompanied
by native Chinese administrative staff, our
MBA courses dive deep into international
business practices, the Asian marketplace,
and management across cultures. We organize
company visits to local and multinational
businesses based in Shanghai, as well as
excursions to the fascinating and booming cities
of Hangzhou and Suzhou. You will take factory
tours to learn about operations and production,
as well as speak with senior executives who are
actively running businesses in China. Students
enjoy a wide range of extracurricular cultural
activities such as martial arts, acupuncture, and
calligraphy.
Shanghai is the epicenter of China’s
phenomenal growth.
Study in our award-winning Shanghai
satellite campus and mingle with local
Chinese professionals.
Electives courses, taught by Hult
professors, challenge you to think
globally.

Our Action Learning Curriculum
During this distinctive project, your team will:
develop insights about the particular industry
and business; identify breakthrough ideas;
develop a business concept; and build an
implementation plan to present to senior
executives and CEOs.
Action Learning “Innovation and Growth”
Projects
Recognizing that innovation is key to sustaining
competitive advantage and driving growth, Hult
has launched Action Learning projects based
on the theme of “Innovation and Growth”.
This program gives you cutting-edge business
experience that is unique. Action Learning
targets the most important and difficult problem
facing every company: identifying new pathways
for growth. The solution lies in business
innovation—which includes some combination
of new customer experiences, new delivery
methods, new offerings, new methods for
production, new partners and networks, or new
business models.
You work towards solving that problem by using
a curriculum that emphasizes both theory and
practice. You also can take advantage of some
of the distinct strengths of Hult: global presence,
a widely diverse student body, and world-class
leaders in the field of innovation.
Action Learning Projects have included:
• Developing business plans for new product
segments for the world’s oldest lighting
manufacturer, Osram Sylvania
• Helping directors at BAE Systems, the global
defense and aerospace company, to leverage
their existing state-of-the-art competencies
and technologies in sensors
• Identifying new applications and customers
for the Director of IBM’s Human Ability and
Accessibility Center
• Generating credible new growth options
for the CEO of Imaginatik, a recently IPOed
enterprise software company, that could be
implemented in a six to 12-month window
Distinguished speakers and company visits
provide exposure to current business reality
Hult’s Distinguished Speakers Series brings
guests from a wide range of industries to
campus to speak to students on a monthly
basis. A number of well-known international
business leaders have shared their insights on
strategic business issues, including: Joel Litman,
Director, Credit-Suisse; Ronald Jonash, Head of
Innovation, Monitor Group; Mark Turrell, CEO,
Imaginatik; Dave Balter, Founder and CEO,
BzzAgent; Jonathan Rowe, COO, GeneExpress;
David Contrada, Partner, Palladium; Ulrich
Nielsen, CTO, Merrimack Pharmaceutical; Dr.
Makaranda Chipalkatti, CIO, Osram-Sylvania;
Hannah Grove, SVP, Head of Global Marketing,
State Street Bank; Anil Kapur, formerly of
the World Bank, Citigroup and McKinsey &
Company; Stan Slap, former Patagonia board
member; Tekla Back, Associate Principal,
McKinsey & Company; Bhasker Natarajan, Vice
President, Liberty Mutual; and Scott Anthony,
President, Innosight LLC.
Our Action Learning is forged by the
realities of business to educate useful and
global business leaders
Our Action Learning curriculum has been
shaped by the real-world needs of today’s best
companies. No other MBA program offers
anything like it. We’ve reached out to leading
companies and executives and they’ve told
us what they need: the management and
leadership skills required for success as a global
manager. This curriculum assures that Hult’s MBA
graduates will have already practiced the skills
they need to help businesses grow in the new
economy.
How our Action Learning program works
Our Action Learning program begins by using
the Harvard Business School case method of
instruction to teach you the latest business
practices in class. Then, we place students in
small teams led by a faculty advisor and assign
each team to a leading business or company to
help solve a real business problem.
At each of Hult’s international campuses,
the Action Learning program has created
partnerships with the best companies in the
local area. In Boston, this includes leading firms
such as Pfizer, EMC, Philips Healthcare, and
Sherman Williams. While in Dubai, students
can work with premier organizations such as
Emirates NBD Bank as well as Dubai Ports,
which manages the largest seaport in the world.
Within each of these companies, five student
teams work intimately with a high-level executive
who is in charge of growing the company.
Student teams are further motivated to work
at high standards by competing with each
other. Over six weeks, these teams meet with
the company executive(s) four times while they
face the task of coming up with a fully-fledged
plan to grow the company. Simultaneously, they
are aided through the process by one of Hult’s
world-class consulting coaches. At the end, they
present their findings to an Executive Team in
the boardroom of the corporation.
Action Learning is a hands-on approach to learning and is
the cornerstone of our curriculum. By applying classroom
learning to actual business situations, Hult students gain a
powerful and practical business education that helps them
think strategically about innovation and growth.
"We hired a recent Hult graduate to join our sourcing
group and she has been terrific! Her analytical
skills are outstanding and she has an international
perspective that is so valuable as we look to expand
our sourcing opportunities. Hult MBA students are
high on our recruiting list."

“The Action Learning Project was a key dimension of our
learning in the MBA program. We designed and developed
a partner channel strategy for a software firm, which was

really an exciting and fulfilling achievement!”

A Global Student Body
Selected from a wide range of industries as well
as nationalities, our student body is a talented and
diverse group. At Hult you learn as much from
your classmates as from your professors.
There is no typical Hult student
Our students bring with them many different
interests and areas of functional expertise—from
media to marketing, finance to technology,
engineering to consulting. The various skills and
perspectives of each student enrich the Hult
learning experience. Whether you are learning
about business etiquette in Japan or negotiating
tactics in Latin America, your classmates will
add an essential element of diversity to your
MBA. You will soon discover for yourself that
there is no typical Hult student.
A supportive learning environment
Our school’s small size gives students
the opportunity to really get to know their
classmates and their professors and to develop
lasting relationships. Within the first few days,
you will quickly meet each person in your class.
When you walk into Hult, you will immediately
sense the culture of personal attention and
teamwork. Despite the competitiveness
and focus required to complete an MBA in
one year, our students often remark on how
comfortable they feel during the program and
how supportive the school is of their needs.
This fellowship extends beyond the classroom,
as students meet informally to discover
their new surroundings. These kinds of
experiences cement friendships and create
unforgettable memories.

Master of International Business
Meet the challenges of a global
marketplace
A strong understanding of how the world is
interconnected through finance, marketing,
operations, technology, and strategy gives
students an immediate head start in launching
their careers. Hult’s Master of International
Business degree helps students acquire
practical business knowledge with a focus on
international and cross-cultural understanding
of the marketplace. This degree is particularly
well suited to recent university graduates
(business and non-business majors) who do
not have extensive work experience. This
degree is also appropriate for people who have
work experience but seek to move into the
international business realm.
Hult’s Global Rotation Program
An international perspective is crucial to
understanding today’s business issues. Hult’s
Global Rotation Program allows students to gain
critical insights into the world’s key economies
and firsthand international business experience.
You can opt to pursue your Master of
International Business in Boston, San Francisco,
London, or Dubai. During the elective module,
students can choose to remain at their home
campus or study at a different Hult campus,
including Shanghai.
Curriculum combines hard skills with
lessons in decision-making and strategy
Hult’s Master of International Business
curriculum delivers an understanding of
today’s global marketplace. Initially, students
focus on learning hard skills in international
finance, marketing, operations, and strategy.
Subsequently, graduates also gain the analytical,
problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
necessary to make decisions in a rapidly
evolving, cross-cultural world. Through a
combination of case study discussions and
lectures, students will also acquire presentation
and communication skills necessary to work and
excel in multinational settings and companies.
Internship Elective Program
Gain valuable on-the-job experience to bolster
your classroom knowledge and expand your
industry contacts. Our global Career Services
team reaches out to hiring managers in
companies of all sizes and industries in order to
provide you with unrivaled contacts for the first
step in your career. Please note that selection
for the Internship Elective Program is based on a
student’s academic background, extracurricular
activities pre-Hult, and language communication
skills. Outside of the U.S., internships will
generally take place during Module C. In the
U.S., students participating in an internship
during the summer may be required to extend
their degree program over 15 months. For all
locations, internships must take place at their
home campus.
Enhance your employability
In today’s increasingly competitive job market,
this degree gives graduates a sound foundation
in international business that students can
bring to any new job and apply on day one.
Hult’s Career Services team works closely with
students throughout the year in their job search,
arranging recruiting fairs, campus networking
opportunities, and internship placements. With
no work experience required upon admission,
Hult’s Master of International Business degree
can jumpstart your career.
A seamless path to a rewarding future
Hult’s Master of International Business is taught
by the same faculty as Hult’s top-ranked MBA
program, and follows an abbreviated version of
the MBA curriculum. Because our MIB and MBA
curricula are highly synchronized, MIB graduates
can convert to a Hult MBA degree after three
years of work experience and an additional 21
credits, with no re-application requirements.
Hult’s Master of International Business degree (MIB) helps
launch students’ careers immediately after undergraduate
studies with a one-year, intensive global business education,
offered in our global locations—Boston, San Francisco,
London, Dubai, and Shanghai.

Master of Arts in International Relations
Learn how to identify patterns and
effect change
The field of International Relations continues to
develop rapidly in response to dramatic global
changes. Graduates grounded in the facts of the
past, skilled in the debates of the present, and
able to anticipate patterns of future development
will be ready to shape institutional responses to
global change.
Course grounded in contemporary events
and reality
Hult offers a practical MA in International
Relations which prepares students for global
challenges by providing a broad platform of
knowledge about the international system,
its key actors, and its essential dynamics.
Coursework covers issues such as cross-border
migration, globalization, the widening poverty
gap, the impact of American foreign policy,
and the threat of terrorism. The MA program
explores critical perspectives on these issues,
engaging students in question-driven analysis
and the search for constructive global change.
Highly flexible curriculum allows you
to specialize
The MA in International Relations program is
highly flexible, and the range of courses allows
students to concentrate on selected areas while
developing a broad base of knowledge across
the discipline as a whole. During a 12-month
period (longer for part-time study), students
undertake a series of flexible course modules
and write a thesis on a topic of their choice.
Put your knowledge to work: field studies
or internship opportunities
Field studies and internships put theory into
practice, allowing students to gain hands-on
experience of project-related work in a global
context. Previous field studies range from: a
conflict resolution tour in Jordan, a global justice
tour in The Hague, and a security studies tour of
NATO in Brussels to an ecological field study in
Vietnam. These life-changing experiences bridge
the gap between classroom and real-world skills.
Career opportunities for MA in International
Relations graduates
This MA program opens opportunities in a wide
range of areas including: diplomacy, foreign
relations, global civil service, non-government
organizations, public policy consulting,
risk analysis, think tanks, and non-profit
organizations.
“Fieldwork is an invaluable experience for
International Relations. I spent two months
living and working in a Liberian refugee camp
in Ghana. What I learned changed my world
view, my perspective on security, and my
outlook on organizations that were created to
protect people but fail to do so. The experience
changed my life and I wouldn’t trade it for
anything in the world.”

Gain the business English ?uency you need
to thrive in Hult’s MBA program
Hult’s Intensive English MBA (IE-MBA) equips you
with the business fluency and the foundation skills
needed to succeed in a competitive MBA program
taught entirely in English. Hult’s IE-MBA will also
provide you with direct access to the school’s
top-ranked accelerated one-year MBA program
through a simplified “Single Application Process”,
allowing you to take your career to new heights in
the shortest possible time. Hult’s IE-MBA is offered

partner institution in Cambridge, U.K.
3- or 6-month comprehensive English
training
Hult’s IE-MBA is offered over a 3- or 6-month
period, depending on your language needs. The
program is composed of three major building
blocks: basic language skills, business English,
and the case study method, and an optional
module on GMAT test preparation. Apart from
traditional classroom training, you are granted
unlimited access to self-study content from
the world’s most flexible online English school:
Englishtown.com.
Small class size for personalized attention
Hult’s IE-MBA course is taught by an expert
English instructor in a small class setting
(maximum class size of six)* to ensure you
receive the individual attention necessary for
maximum language learning. A small class size
also guarantees that your individual language
needs are addressed and fulfilled.
A curriculum that combines intensive
language training with MBA preparation
Alongside language learning, Hult’s IE-MBA
curriculum is designed to equip you with other
relevant skills required to complete an MBA in
English, such as: applying your English skills
to solve a Hult business case, building your
vocabulary in specific business disciplines,
learning to write a presentation, and business
reporting.
A professional atmopshere with highly
experienced classmates
During Hult’s IE-MBA, you will study with a
group of mature and experienced professionals.
They are middle-to-top level management,
and come from diverse industry backgrounds.
You can count on learning as much from your
classmates, as you will from your program.
Access to Hult’s MBA community
One big advantage of doing your pre-MBA
language training at Hult is that you will have
a head start in getting acquainted with Hult’s
MBA community and establishing yourself at
the school. You are welcome to participate in
any of Hult’s numerous weekly student activities:
network with talented Hult MBAs and alumni,
participate in a wide range of Hult executive
seminars, attend project presentations and
guest lectures, and get to know your professors
in relaxed settings.
* In the event that the class size is below six persons, you
may be placed in class with other non IE-MBA corporate
language students at your level.

Financial Aid
An MBA is a significant investment; however, Hult
makes it easy for you to afford your degree. Not only is
our program one of the most cost-effective relative to
other MBA programs, it is also condensed into one year,
which minimizes opportunity costs. We work with you
to find the most beneficial funding options to cover your
education-related expenses.
Making it easy to afford your MBA
Our one-year program is very cost-effective
relative to other MBA programs, since most
other programs take two years. Relative to other
MBA candidates, Hult students save a year of
tuition fees, living expenses, and the opportunity
cost of being out of the workforce.
Nonetheless, we understand that financing
an MBA can be challenging, particularly for
international students. Further, because the
course is so intense, it is not possible for students
to work in parallel with their studies. We therefore
work with you to help you find the most beneficial
funding options to cover your education-related
costs. These options include scholarships,
fellowships, and education loans.
Scholarships
Hult offers a range of merit-based scholarships
to reduce the tuition cost burden. These are
available to all students regardless of citizenship.
To be considered for these scholarships we
encourage you to apply early. Decisions on
scholarships are made only after an offer of
admission has been made.
Fellowships
A limited number of merit-based fellowships
are available to accepted students. These
fellowships offer students the opportunity to
work with faculty and staff members at Hult
International Business School for approximately
eight hours per week. The number of fellowships
varies from year to year and from campus
to campus.
The fellowships available each year are
communicated to students at the time of
application. All accepted students may apply
for any fellowship position for which they
feel qualified.
Education loans
The majority of our students utilize some form of
education loan even if they receive a scholarship
or fellowship. Students requiring financing for
their tuition costs have two main loan options:
Bank loan
Financial institutions in many countries offer
education financing specifically to local
citizens wishing to pursue an MBA. These
loans are typically repayable after completion
of the course, although terms vary widely. We
are happy to work with our students to help
them identify suitable financial institutions to
apply for these loans.
Erika loan
Hult has established a partnership with Erika
Finance, a Hong Kong financial institution, to
offer student loans to international students.
These loans offer very competitive interest
rates. The loans are typically offered over five
years with repayments starting six months
after graduation.

Financial Aid Policy
The Hult financial aid policy is intended to advance the school’s
mission to deliver a useful and enduring business education to
international professionals. It is based on the following objectives:
(1) to promote a nationally, culturally, and ethnically diverse student
body, (2) to encourage outstanding applicants to enroll in the Hult
Program, (3) to provide financial assistance to qualified applicants in

Withdrawal Policy
A student may withdraw from the MBA program at any time upon
giving written notice to the school’s Registrar. The withdrawing
student may re-enter the program at a later date, without having
to reapply for admission. He or she may use any unexpired refund
credit (see “Refund Policy” below) toward the receipt of educational
services or materials, priced at the rate prevailing at the time of
re-entry. In addition to providing written notice to the Registrar, all
students must meet with the Academic Dean prior to withdrawing.
Global Rotation Program
The Global Rotation Program is subject to capacity constraints and
will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be
in good academic standing and be up-to-date on tuition payments
to participate in this program. A deposit of USD500 or equivalent is
required to secure each rotation.
Refund Policy
In general, the school grants only credit refunds that may be used
within a five-year period for future educational services. It does not
grant cash refunds.
The date on which the notice of intention to withdraw and not
re-enter is received by the Registrar, or the date on which the student
is informed of his or her dismissal from the school, will determine that
student’s liability for tuition and other program-related costs.
1. If the notice of intention is received before the first day of the MBA
Toolbox, the student will be entitled to a full credit refund of any paid
tuition and other program-related costs, less the program deposit,

form of a scholarship and/or fellowship, the amount of any credit
refund will be net of such aid, prorated over three modules as follows:
Withdrawals before: Credit refund will be net of:
First day of Module A 100% total financial aid received
First day of Module B 66% total financial aid received
First day of Module C 33% total financial aid received
Grading Procedure
1. Grading Standards
Course instructors will evaluate and assess participant
performance. Grades are assigned according to the Instructor’s
assessment of performance on the intellectual and professional
criteria established for the course. The Instructor has full authority
and responsibility to establish performance criteria, evaluate
participant performance, and award grades. The Faculty uses the
following grading system to evaluate participant performance:
Points Grade Performance
4.00 A Outstanding
3.67 A- Excellent
3.33 B+ Very Good
3.00 B Good
2.67 B- Acceptable
2.33 C+ High Marginal
2.00 C Marginal
1.67 C- Low Marginal
1.00 D Unsatisfactory
0 F Fail
Acceptable graduate-level work is a B- or better. The Registrar
releases official final course grades at the end of each module in the
form of a transcript. Individual grade breakdowns (participation,
homework, and exam grades, for example) are available only from
Instructors. Every Hult student is entitled to know the manner in
which his or her course grade was calculated.
2. Grade Point Average
A weighted grade point average (GPA) is computed by multiplying
the numerical grade received for each course or module by the
number of credit hours per course, totaling these figures, then
dividing the sum by the total credit hours. "Pass" and
"Incomplete" grades and their corresponding credits are not
factored into the weighted average. A "Fail" will be factored into
the weighted average as a numerical grade of zero.
Every course in which a student has enrolled, and for which a
student has been assigned a letter grade, will be denoted on his
or her transcript. Every letter grade denoted on the transcript will
be factored into the calculation of the student’s overall GPA.
Graduation Requirements
1. Basic Requirements
Participants must complete 57 credit hours of course work to be
eligible for the MBA Degree. Course credit is awarded for
achieving a grade better than “F” on a course. All courses in
Module A or B as well as the five skills track courses must be
completed with a grade better than “F.” Should a participant
receive an “F” on a required course, this course must be re-taken
at Hult or an approved institution within a period of three years
from the participant’s original enrollment date and the participant
must achieve a grade better than “F.” Those who satisfy all
program requirements (include: participation in all courses,
payment of all financial obligations, return of all library materials,
and completion of all evaluations), who receive a grade other than
“Incomplete” for each course, who have no outstanding Honor
Code issues, and who have a final GPA of 2.70 or better are
granted the MBA degree. Degrees are recommended by the
Academic Dean to the Faculty and the Board of Trustees and
awarded by vote of the Faculty and the Board.
2. Dean’s List
Participants who earn a GPA of 3.60 or above for any Module are
formally named to the Hult International Business School Dean’s
List for that Module. Qualifying participants receive notification
from the Dean with appropriate recording in the participant's
permanent academic file. With the participant's approval, formal
announcement of this scholastic achievement will be made to
respective sponsors and agencies. The school is very pleased to
offer this achievement award and hopes this award will serve as
added incentive for all participants.
3. Graduation with Honors
Participants graduating with a cumulative GPA at or above 3.60
and who are in the top 10% of the class will be designated a Hult
Scholar and will receive their degree “with Distinction” indicating
the highest honor. Those whose cumulative GPA is 3.60 or above
but who are not in the top 10% of the class will receive their
degree “with Excellence”, as recommended to the Faculty and
Board of Trustees by the Academic Dean.
Dismissal from the Program
The school reserves the right to dismiss any participant at any time
whose academic performance is unsatisfactory, whose conduct
constitutes unacceptable professional behavior, or whose legal or
medical problems hinder satisfactory performance. In such cases,
the Academic Dean will notify the participant in writing, a degree will
not be awarded to the participant, and, as appropriate, the
participant's sponsor will be notified.

Hult’s MBA is among the world’s top 1%
best business schools
Hult’s MBA program has been ranked in the
top 25 business schools in the U.S. and top
50 in the world by The Economist (2009),
and currently ranks in the Financial Times’
top 100 business schools in the world. This
ranking recognizes our uniquely international
focus, the quality of our program and faculty,
and our exceptional student body and alumni
network. Our students’ ability to find employment
and increase their earning power, as well as
the diversity of the industries they enter after
completion, are key factors in this ranking.
Hult International Business School is a fully
accredited member of the New England
Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
and is also accredited by the Association of
MBAs (AMBA). Hult is the first U.S. program ever
to be accredited by AMBA.
What Makes Us Different ?
Hult’s Global Rotation Program provides an
extraordinary opportunity to study in the
world’s fastest growing economies
An international perspective is crucial to
understanding today’s business issues. Hult’s
Global Rotation Program allows students to gain
critical insights into the world’s key economies.
You can opt to pursue your MBA in Boston,
San Francisco, London, or Dubai. No matter
which home campus you choose, you will
receive the same fully accredited one-year MBA
education of identical quality, using an identical
curriculum. Students will spend nine months
at their home campus (Boston, San Francisco,
London, or Dubai) for the core courses. When
students move on to their elective modules, they
will be given an option to study at Hult’s other
campuses. Shanghai’s study abroad campus is
available during the first elective module.
Hult’s one-year payback—comparison with
other MBA schools
Hult’s MBA pays for itself in half the time of other
programs, representing a very smart investment.
Furthermore, our students command
competitive starting salaries when equipped with
a Hult MBA. In combination with the fact that
our one-year MBA costs less and gets students
back to the workforce sooner, our graduates
are, on average, able to recoup their investment
in just over a year. This is far quicker than
traditional two-year U.S. MBA programs or more
expensive one-year European MBA programs.
This means that a Hult MBA not only amplifies
your earning power, but also maximizes your
time and resources. Please see the chart below
for a comparison with other programs.
Pioneers in Action Learning
Action Learning integrates classroom teaching
with real-life situations. At Hult, we focus on
“learning by doing”, not simply sitting in a
classroom, but actually going into the real
world and applying the tools and concepts to
real business situations. Theory is taught in
the classroom through lectures and required
readings. The theory is put to the test in real-life
situations through case studies of actual business
problems and business simulations. An integral
part of our curriculum is the Action Learning
Project, which gives you the chance to apply
the skills you have learned in the classroom and
work as part of a small team focused on solving a
current business problem for a real company.
A truly international student body
For over 40 years we have been training leaders
from all over the world—from Spain to South
Africa, Iceland to India, and China to Chile. Our
current student body is made up of experienced
professionals from over 80 different countries with
an average age of 30, and with an average of
seven years of work experience. The breadth of
experience, insight, and cultural perspectives that
our students bring to the classroom creates an
extraordinary learning experience.
Our world-class faculty possesses
real-world business experience
Our global faculty has outstanding academic
credentials combined with real-life experience
running and managing successful businesses.
Hult professors are seasoned professionals with
expertise in teaching international managers—80
percent have extensive international experience
and many are citizens of countries other than
the U.S. A substantial portion of our faculty are
practitioners and are actively engaged as directors
of corporations, consultants, or managers of
growth companies.
For over 40 years, we have attracted top
international students to our unique one-year MBA.
Our campuses around the world help train global
business leaders. What makes us so successful?
Earn a valuable degree in one year instead of the traditional two years. Hult develops global business leaders.

I consider myself fortunate for
having had the opportunity to
take the Hult MBA. One year that
changed the way I experience the
world and accept the richness
of diversity. The time I spent in
Shanghai was the crowning point
of my multicultural experience.
One thing is to read or hear about
China, another very different is to
experience it.
Hult Shanghai
Shanghai is a city of breathtaking transformations—modern
skyscrapers juxtaposed next to ancient lane houses, and
sophisticated shops neighboring open-air markets. You
can take elective courses at our study abroad campus in
the heart of this remarkable city-on-the-move.
The “Pearl of the Orient”
The ascendancy of China as an economic
superpower is centered in Shanghai. Known
as the “Pearl of the Orient”, Shanghai has been
compared to New York or Paris in sophistication
and trend-setting power. With nearly 17 million
residents, Shanghai is one of the world’s
largest cities and is considered China’s most
cosmopolitan metropolis.
Amazing downtown location
Hult’s downtown campus sits in the heart of
this dynamic and fast-paced city, and is located
in the city’s commercial, financial, retail, and
social center. Footsteps away are Shanghai’s
most famous shopping street, Nanjing Road,
and the extraordinary Shanghai Museum. Our
school recently won first place in an architectural
interior design competition for its state-of-the-art
classrooms, computer laboratories, comfortable
student lounges, and distinctive furnishings.
Convenient subway and public transportation
access make it easy for you to explore the
city. Residential accommodations are a short
commute away.
Hult’s Global Rotation Program—study in
Shanghai for your electives
Hult’s Shanghai study abroad campus is
available during the first elective module. During
this module (6 to 8 weeks) in Shanghai, special
extracurricular activities will be arranged to
enrich the learning experience and provide
students with the opportunity to develop
excellent knowledge of the city and culture.
Besides gaining a better understanding of the
practicalities of doing business in Asia, students
will also have opportunities to visit companies
and network with senior executives and business
leaders in the region.
Enriching excursions, speakers,
and cultural activities
Led by Hult professors and accompanied
by native Chinese administrative staff, our
MBA courses dive deep into international

Our Action Learning Curriculum
During this distinctive project, your team will:
develop insights about the particular industry
and business; identify breakthrough ideas;
develop a business concept; and build an
implementation plan to present to senior
executives and CEOs.
Action Learning “Innovation and Growth”
Projects
Recognizing that innovation is key to sustaining
competitive advantage and driving growth, Hult
has launched Action Learning projects based
on the theme of “Innovation and Growth”.
This program gives you cutting-edge business
experience that is unique. Action Learning
targets the most important and difficult problem
facing every company: identifying new pathways
for growth. The solution lies in business
innovation—which includes some combination
of new customer experiences, new delivery
methods, new offerings, new methods for
production, new partners and networks, or new
business models.
You work towards solving that problem by using
a curriculum that emphasizes both theory and
practice. You also can take advantage of some
of the distinct strengths of Hult: global presence,
a widely diverse student body, and world-class
leaders in the field of innovation.
Action Learning Projects have included:
• Developing business plans for new product
segments for the world’s oldest lighting
manufacturer, Osram Sylvania
• Helping directors at BAE Systems, the global
defense and aerospace company, to leverage
their existing state-of-the-art competencies
and technologies in sensors
• Identifying new applications and customers
for the Director of IBM’s Human Ability and
Accessibility Center
• Generating credible new growth options
for the CEO of Imaginatik, a recently IPOed
enterprise software company, that could be
implemented in a six to 12-month window
Distinguished speakers and company visits
provide exposure to current business reality
Hult’s Distinguished Speakers Series brings
guests from a wide range of industries to
campus to speak to students on a monthly
basis. A number of well-known international
business leaders have shared their insights on
strategic business issues, including: Joel Litman,
Director, Credit-Suisse; Ronald Jonash, Head of
Innovation, Monitor Group; Mark Turrell, CEO,
Imaginatik; Dave Balter, Founder and CEO,
BzzAgent; Jonathan Rowe, COO, GeneExpress;
David Contrada, Partner, Palladium; Ulrich
Nielsen, CTO, Merrimack Pharmaceutical; Dr.
Makaranda Chipalkatti, CIO, Osram-Sylvania;
Hannah Grove, SVP, Head of Global Marketing,
State Street Bank; Anil Kapur, formerly of
the World Bank, Citigroup and McKinsey &
Company; Stan Slap, former Patagonia board
member; Tekla Back, Associate Principal,
McKinsey & Company; Bhasker Natarajan, Vice
President, Liberty Mutual; and Scott Anthony,
President, Innosight LLC.
Our Action Learning is forged by the
realities of business to educate useful and
global business leaders
Our Action Learning curriculum has been
shaped by the real-world needs of today’s best
companies. No other MBA program offers
anything like it. We’ve reached out to leading
companies and executives and they’ve told
us what they need: the management and
leadership skills required for success as a global
manager. This curriculum assures that Hult’s MBA
graduates will have already practiced the skills
they need to help businesses grow in the new
economy.
How our Action Learning program works
Our Action Learning program begins by using
the Harvard Business School case method of
instruction to teach you the latest business
practices in class. Then, we place students in
small teams led by a faculty advisor and assign
each team to a leading business or company to
help solve a real business problem.
At each of Hult’s international campuses,
the Action Learning program has created
partnerships with the best companies in the
local area. In Boston, this includes leading firms
such as Pfizer, EMC, Philips Healthcare, and
Sherman Williams. While in Dubai, students
can work with premier organizations such as
Emirates NBD Bank as well as Dubai Ports,
which manages the largest seaport in the world.
Within each of these companies, five student
teams work intimately with a high-level executive
who is in charge of growing the company.
Student teams are further motivated to work
at high standards by competing with each
other. Over six weeks, these teams meet with
the company executive(s) four times while they
face the task of coming up with a fully-fledged
plan to grow the company. Simultaneously, they
are aided through the process by one of Hult’s
world-class consulting coaches. At the end, they
present their findings to an Executive Team in
the boardroom of the corporation.
Action Learning is a hands-on approach to learning and is
the cornerstone of our curriculum. By applying classroom
learning to actual business situations, Hult students gain a
powerful and practical business education that helps them
think strategically about innovation and growth.
"We hired a recent Hult graduate to join our sourcing
group and she has been terrific! Her analytical
skills are outstanding and she has an international
perspective that is so valuable as we look to expand
our sourcing opportunities. Hult MBA students are
high on our recruiting list."

“The Action Learning Project was a key dimension of our
learning in the MBA program. We designed and developed
a partner channel strategy for a software firm, which was
eagerly implemented by the client. To see our efforts being
transformed into useful results for such a large company was
really an exciting and fulfilling achievement!”

A Global Student Body
Selected from a wide range of industries as well
as nationalities, our student body is a talented and
diverse group. At Hult you learn as much from
your classmates as from your professors.
There is no typical Hult student
Our students bring with them many different
interests and areas of functional expertise—from
media to marketing, finance to technology,
engineering to consulting. The various skills and
perspectives of each student enrich the Hult
learning experience. Whether you are learning
about business etiquette in Japan or negotiating
tactics in Latin America, your classmates will
add an essential element of diversity to your
MBA. You will soon discover for yourself that
there is no typical Hult student.
A supportive learning environment
Our school’s small size gives students
the opportunity to really get to know their
classmates and their professors and to develop
lasting relationships. Within the first few days,
you will quickly meet each person in your class.
When you walk into Hult, you will immediately
sense the culture of personal attention and
teamwork. Despite the competitiveness
and focus required to complete an MBA in
one year, our students often remark on how
comfortable they feel during the program and
how supportive the school is of their needs.
This fellowship extends beyond the classroom,
as students meet informally to discover
their new surroundings. These kinds of
experiences cement friendships and create
unforgettable memories.

Master of International Business
Meet the challenges of a global
marketplace
A strong understanding of how the world is
interconnected through finance, marketing,
operations, technology, and strategy gives
students an immediate head start in launching
their careers. Hult’s Master of International
Business degree helps students acquire
practical business knowledge with a focus on
international and cross-cultural understanding
of the marketplace. This degree is particularly
well suited to recent university graduates
(business and non-business majors) who do
not have extensive work experience. This
degree is also appropriate for people who have
work experience but seek to move into the
international business realm.
Hult’s Global Rotation Program
An international perspective is crucial to
understanding today’s business issues. Hult’s
Global Rotation Program allows students to gain
critical insights into the world’s key economies
and firsthand international business experience.
You can opt to pursue your Master of
International Business in Boston, San Francisco,
London, or Dubai. During the elective module,
students can choose to remain at their home
campus or study at a different Hult campus,
including Shanghai.
Curriculum combines hard skills with
lessons in decision-making and strategy
Hult’s Master of International Business
curriculum delivers an understanding of
today’s global marketplace. Initially, students
focus on learning hard skills in international
finance, marketing, operations, and strategy.
Subsequently, graduates also gain the analytical,
problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
necessary to make decisions in a rapidly
evolving, cross-cultural world. Through a
combination of case study discussions and
lectures, students will also acquire presentation
and communication skills necessary to work and
excel in multinational settings and companies.
Internship Elective Program
Gain valuable on-the-job experience to bolster
your classroom knowledge and expand your
industry contacts. Our global Career Services
team reaches out to hiring managers in
companies of all sizes and industries in order to
provide you with unrivaled contacts for the first
step in your career. Please note that selection
for the Internship Elective Program is based on a
student’s academic background, extracurricular
activities pre-Hult, and language communication
skills. Outside of the U.S., internships will
generally take place during Module C. In the
U.S., students participating in an internship
during the summer may be required to extend
their degree program over 15 months. For all
locations, internships must take place at their
home campus.
Enhance your employability
In today’s increasingly competitive job market,
this degree gives graduates a sound foundation
in international business that students can
bring to any new job and apply on day one.
Hult’s Career Services team works closely with
students throughout the year in their job search,
arranging recruiting fairs, campus networking
opportunities, and internship placements. With
no work experience required upon admission,
Hult’s Master of International Business degree
can jumpstart your career.
A seamless path to a rewarding future
Hult’s Master of International Business is taught
by the same faculty as Hult’s top-ranked MBA
program, and follows an abbreviated version of
the MBA curriculum. Because our MIB and MBA
curricula are highly synchronized, MIB graduates
can convert to a Hult MBA degree after three
years of work experience and an additional 21
credits, with no re-application requirements.
Hult’s Master of International Business degree (MIB) helps
launch students’ careers immediately after undergraduate
studies with a one-year, intensive global business education,

Master of Arts in International Relations
Learn how to identify patterns and
effect change
The field of International Relations continues to
develop rapidly in response to dramatic global
changes. Graduates grounded in the facts of the
past, skilled in the debates of the present, and
able to anticipate patterns of future development
will be ready to shape institutional responses to
global change.
Course grounded in contemporary events
and reality
Hult offers a practical MA in International
Relations which prepares students for global
challenges by providing a broad platform of
knowledge about the international system,
its key actors, and its essential dynamics.
Coursework covers issues such as cross-border
migration, globalization, the widening poverty
gap, the impact of American foreign policy,
and the threat of terrorism. The MA program
explores critical perspectives on these issues,
engaging students in question-driven analysis
and the search for constructive global change.
Highly flexible curriculum allows you
to specialize
The MA in International Relations program is
highly flexible, and the range of courses allows
students to concentrate on selected areas while
developing a broad base of knowledge across
the discipline as a whole. During a 12-month
period (longer for part-time study), students
undertake a series of flexible course modules
and write a thesis on a topic of their choice.
Put your knowledge to work: field studies
or internship opportunities
Field studies and internships put theory into
practice, allowing students to gain hands-on
experience of project-related work in a global
context. Previous field studies range from: a
conflict resolution tour in Jordan, a global justice
tour in The Hague, and a security studies tour of
NATO in Brussels to an ecological field study in
Vietnam. These life-changing experiences bridge
the gap between classroom and real-world skills.
Career opportunities for MA in International
Relations graduates
This MA program opens opportunities in a wide
range of areas including: diplomacy, foreign
relations, global civil service, non-government
organizations, public policy consulting,
risk analysis, think tanks, and non-profit
organizations.
“Fieldwork is an invaluable experience for
International Relations. I spent two months
living and working in a Liberian refugee camp
in Ghana. What I learned changed my world
view, my perspective on security, and my
outlook on organizations that were created to
protect people but fail to do so. The experience
changed my life and I wouldn’t trade it for
anything in the world.”
Samantha Feinstein

Financial Aid
An MBA is a significant investment; however, Hult
makes it easy for you to afford your degree. Not only is
our program one of the most cost-effective relative to
other MBA programs, it is also condensed into one year,
which minimizes opportunity costs. We work with you
to find the most beneficial funding options to cover your
education-related expenses.
Making it easy to afford your MBA
Our one-year program is very cost-effective
relative to other MBA programs, since most
other programs take two years. Relative to other
MBA candidates, Hult students save a year of
tuition fees, living expenses, and the opportunity
cost of being out of the workforce.
Nonetheless, we understand that financing
an MBA can be challenging, particularly for
international students. Further, because the
course is so intense, it is not possible for students
to work in parallel with their studies. We therefore
work with you to help you find the most beneficial
funding options to cover your education-related
costs. These options include scholarships,
fellowships, and education loans.
Scholarships
Hult offers a range of merit-based scholarships
to reduce the tuition cost burden. These are
available to all students regardless of citizenship.
To be considered for these scholarships we
encourage you to apply early. Decisions on
scholarships are made only after an offer of
admission has been made.
Fellowships
A limited number of merit-based fellowships
are available to accepted students. These
fellowships offer students the opportunity to
work with faculty and staff members at Hult
International Business School for approximately
eight hours per week. The number of fellowships
varies from year to year and from campus
to campus.
The fellowships available each year are
communicated to students at the time of
application. All accepted students may apply
for any fellowship position for which they
feel qualified.
Education loans
The majority of our students utilize some form of
education loan even if they receive a scholarship
or fellowship. Students requiring financing for
their tuition costs have two main loan options:
Bank loan
Financial institutions in many countries offer
education financing specifically to local
citizens wishing to pursue an MBA. These
loans are typically repayable after completion
of the course, although terms vary widely. We
are happy to work with our students to help
them identify suitable financial institutions to
apply for these loans.
Erika loan
Hult has established a partnership with Erika
Finance, a Hong Kong financial institution, to
offer student loans to international students.
These loans offer very competitive interest
rates. The loans are typically offered over five
years with repayments starting six months
after graduation.

Financial Aid Policy
The Hult financial aid policy is intended to advance the school’s
mission to deliver a useful and enduring business education to
international professionals. It is based on the following objectives:
(1) to promote a nationally, culturally, and ethnically diverse student

Toolbox, the student will be entitled to a full credit refund of any paid
tuition and other program-related costs, less the program deposit,

refund will be net of such aid, prorated over three modules as follows:
