Culture, cricket, IT, BPO, growth, sensex, democracy etc are some of the key words that you can identify India with, in the contemporary scenario. Economic growth has put India on the global map and changed the image of the country and its people. I don’t wish to question the sanctity of the success story that India is, but neither do I wish to eulogize the achievements as they stand today and turn a blind eye to what is not so “happening” in India.
A recent article in a leading news daily suggested that amidst all the achievements that we Indians have successfully made, our society has had been debilitated by our insidious cultural bigotry against women that has pushed the sex ratio to a shameful 933 females per one thousand males in the country

so what do u think is the solution.....lets discuss things
 
Stopping female foeticide could be a solution.Demography plays a certain role
in M-F ratio.For Eg.Kerala is actually a maternal state while other states are
paternal.That doesn't mean that in all other states no females are living.I
could say more females are born in Kerala when compared with other states and
more importantly they don't kill the infants cos they are females.So to
increase the female ratio we need to stop the female foeticide.

WELL THE WORSENING SEX RATIO IS REALLY A MATTER OF CONCERN.IN CHINA ALREADY THE RATIO IS SO SKEWED THAT PEOPLE ARE EITHER LIVING ALONE OR CHANGING THIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION.THE SITUATION NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED MORE BECAUSE GIRLS ARE GETTING MORE ATTENTION BECAUSE BEING FEWER

sex ratio is a consern punjab is having the worst sex ratio the only way to improve is to remove the stigma out of girls like that of dowry etc
 
I belive dowry as a problem can be removed.. We all know that govt has banned dowry, but how many of us actually believe it, even in "developed" Mumbai, parents pay dowry but call it gifts.. There is one solution:

Reduce the amount of coverage given to brides who are killed, burnt, etc. beccause of dowry.. I know nost of u will not support me.. But think about it urself, if ur the father/ mother of a bride, reading all this will scare u and hence, u'll pay the dowry in order to save ur daughter from problems..

On the other hand, if we give more coverage to the incidents where, brides refused a marriage bcoz her in-laws were demanding money and also she got a good husband in future, how succesful her life is,etc , would send in messages to prospective parents of a girl, that saying no to dowry is possible...
