The Locus of existence

When things end up being struck in a rut for me , I end up thinking about my identity in this society and country at large. As a group, I stand for in a political sense as an Indian. Born in Tiruchirapalli , Tamilnadu ; brought up in Andhra Pradesh first and later and for the most part in Rajasthan ; having a domicile of Tamilnadu , yet having done all my education – right from primary school in the state of Rajasthan ; It is a constant source of pondering for me as to –who I am? What words shall I take the freedom of using, to name myself vis-à-vis make known about the manner in which I regard myself when pitted against a multitude of people and to untimely imagine where I get up in a relative sense to someone doing the same thing that I do, or just the whole humanity for a change…..

I have a strong inclination to say that the first thing that comes to my mind in such instances is me being a consumer. On the same vein it is not to be disputed that we are all consumers , aren’t we?

So , in any case ,our most important role as a cog in this humongous assortment of gears of this scheme of things that we refer to as a democracy ( well I am still obliged to call it so , there are countries other than India who despise the state of affairs) or to be general in any country irrespective of their form of government ; with the purpose of collective and individual upliftment through sharing of goods and services , is to exhaust stuff coming from various channels – lest they pile up.

It is not to be mistaken for an opinionated responsibility whatsoever, as it is seldom more than a financially viable, and to be quite blunt, a submissive and recessive; a unequivocally alimentary role of gobbling up the surplus. Even the few degrees of freedom the proletariat is eligible for- are limited by one string or the other of the encroaching global enterprises, in league with the fraudulent legislators looking for a quick buck in their twilight years.

If by perchance for a brief period of our lifetime, we are allowed to pull down the cloak of being a consumer, it is to don the robe of a tax-payer. Some may say that this role is of much more significance than it looks, I mean we are helping run our country by giving off a chunk of our toil – but is it really where this leads to ?

When we don the robe of a Tax-payer all that is left to us is to reflect on politics of the country, specifically, in monetary terms. That brings us back to square one as we even in our political awareness are in fact, still not totally rid of the ‘consumer-cloak’.

The first thing we do as ‘consumer-cloak-wearing-politically aware individuals’ is to become aware of how unpleasant it is, when we are forced to the realization that not everyone is paying their taxes , and for the better part of their prosperous lives – actually getting away with it , unless some diligent official gets to the bottom of it.

Wearing the ‘Tax-paying robe’ should bring along a few perks with it , the robe is heavy after all isn’t it ? For starters I am startled by the fact of the matter that the [/i]government eventually does more for those who pay less taxes , and the working class i.e. the proletariat is forced to bear with their burden ,all for the sole purpose of maintaining the vote bank of those senile politicians. For the very same reason we can see that the reservations have yet to be abolished.

Does -Tit for tat –lead to a prosperous community? So , does equality in the true sense , really exist in some part of this world ? Where the broke, the disabled, the unwaged: the freeloaders and NEETS don’t get a free sustenance and have to brace themselves to earn it out of the system–and so donning the ‘[/i]Tax-payer robe’ forces us to think of these anomalies persisting in our society and the world at large.

When it is time for the elections, we inexplicably change into a suit of ‘voter’ (like those old Hindi movies when the hero and heroine changed clothes every 10 seconds). Finally we get to play a meaningful role of some form in the actual implementation of the democracy, despite the fact that even at this point there’s a jolt and a flash. For not anyone can be a ‘voter’, it isn’t compulsory either, it is only meant for the unrelenting people who take to trouble to put in an appearance …..Perhaps for times more than one with unwavering trust in the solidarity of their leader, in whom they swear virtue – yet have a crack at any loose end in the ballot to spike the numbers, even the novice politicians know what the numbers will actually be, if not for those blind conformers.

To paraphrase the voice of the millions of people in our country , the ‘voter – suit’ is tailored by the individuals who seek out our votes only to go covert to hold back turnouts, curb the frequent outrages to gather together a loyal group of ‘ voter-suit’ wearing people devoid of any senses other than their ears tuned in to the frequency of their oppressor, in any case it ceases to be the other way around. Like the ‘consumer-cloak’, the ‘[/i]voter-suit’ is a basically reflexive perception ; an correlation personified in the sinister impression, widespread in advertising chatter, that – Democracies stand on the pedestal of economic gain. Voters like stray dogs take anything they could get their hands on, and get whatever is handed to them in the future.

The concept of the locus of existence is a profound exploration into where and how entities—be it individuals, communities, or even abstract ideas—exist and find their place in the world. At its core, the locus of existence refers to the central point or setting from which an entity operates and derives its significance. For human beings, this can manifest in various domains, such as physical, psychological, or social. In the physical realm, one's locus of existence is often tied to the geographical location or environment where they live, influencing their daily experiences, culture, and identity. Psychologically, the locus of existence can be internal, rooted in one's thoughts, emotions, and perceptions, shaping their self-concept and worldview. Socially, it is the network of relationships and the community in which an individual participates, which provides a sense of belonging and purpose. The interplay between these different loci is complex and dynamic, as each influences and is influenced by the others, creating a multidimensional framework for understanding human existence.

In broader contexts, the locus of existence can extend to more abstract entities, such as organizations, movements, or cultural phenomena. For example, a social movement's locus of existence might be its core principles and the collective action of its members, while a religious institution's locus could be its sacred texts, traditions, and the faith of its adherents. These loci are not static; they evolve over time in response to changing circumstances, new ideas, and shifting societal norms. Understanding the locus of existence is crucial for grasping the essence and trajectory of any entity, as it provides insights into the foundational elements that sustain and drive it. This concept invites us to consider the deeper questions of where we belong, what gives our lives meaning, and how we interact with the world around us.
