The Laconophilic kid (poem)

Introduction : In this day and age of consumerism ; where many advertisements are contextually embedded to induce obsolescence in the masses ; forcing them to buy what they don't need - what will happen if someone who sees through it all , decides to abstain from them?

Once born to parents , extravagant,

was a laconophilic kid.

had he , a prepuce of just the right size,

they saw , before the nurse came by to gid.

A little time went by .

At the sight of any new toy ,

which bought he , every week ;

Jump he didn't , with ardent joy.

Suck did he not ; his mother dry,

as do some nascent infant.

Learned the father ; when a little ; he did pry.

As was the norm , He went to school.

Though reluctant ; egged was he by his father.

"Tis where the society's ideas pool.

Believe me, the grey bore testimony,

If don't you, among thane peer be considered a fool."

Never did he indulge in Bilge.

Thought they , " Lost is he without a sport.

An able body , you must own.

else how do you , a lady ; court."

Slipped by he , without notice,

through many a lavish feast.

Sing did everyone a ballad, as they ate without police.

The leftovers could fill; a desperate street in the least.

His father, tired ; did groan,

"Hear philosophers son, with them I've had a tryst.

Cutting in himself , "I know you'd cite obsolescence.

as even a utilitarian , doth a mansion own."

Though a lover he had, before going senile .

As saw she her sisters , shine ;

left him , lest she be called vile.

Seen he , many a solstice.

Nothing in particular , he had to lace.

In the bath one day , his knees gave in,

and left he , without a trace.
